He's a SG more than a PG. Hard to say who he can be compared to. I guess the easy way out would be to say Manu. I don't really like that one much, though.
Man, for all the teams that were interested in him it's kinda crazy Memphis got JCN for so cheap. Especially with Pau making it so apparent he wanted him. You have to imagine JCN threatened to sign that deal to stay in spain if he wasn't traded to Memphis in essence killing any value he would have with that huge buyout.

The situations are just so different though with Kobe being under such a large contract and JCN using leverage against the team that drafted him to get his way as essentially a free agent can. Kobe stonewalling the Lakers and refusing to play would hurt him, his trade value, his endorsements he's tried so hard to get back that it's so much easier for the Lakers to call his bluff. They can essentially call him out, expose him for being the big baby he is because LA can always blame his actions for their losses so they don't lose all their fans and still probably come away with a couple nice players at the least. JCN basically had no attachment to Washington whatsoever and forced his way to the place he wanted to be because the signing would make him in essence worthless if Scola's situation is any comaparison of how a large buyout kills good players value. Kobe can keep dreaming of playing with JKidd because him coming to us is so much more difficult than Boston wrangling a KG.
