You have the legal right. But you're still wrong to try to force your beliefs on others. A person can legally ruin your life if they have the means. But that doesn't make it right to do so.
I once ran into a guy who said he could cut my balls off with his mean looking pocket knife. Why he said that I'll never know but I responded by telling him that maybe he could but he would have the fight of his life. I ain't gonna make it easy on anyone.
I never said what I'd do prior to that law being enacted. I simply said I'd abide by it if it were. There's nothing that says I wouldn't leave the country, though. The Azores are always an option.
Look, I believe it's immoral to kill babies in the womb. I also believe that same-sex marriages are not marriages at all. And, I have the right to believe that. Period.
Just because something is a “law” doesn’t automatically make it “right” or “moral”. It just means enough people got together to impose their will on other people. For the past twenty or so years, the minority has been imposing it’s will on the majority of Americans. Which means the laws they pass are not a product of a democracy. Or a republic for that matter. Which, at least to my mind makes them irrelevant. But you keep doing the sheeple thing if that’s what keeps you fat, dumb and sedated……..
Correct. And I'll always stand by those....and have every right to do so. As an aside question, do you believe being gay can be a choice vs. "I was born that way." I believe it can be. My sister lived in a gay relationship for thirteen years and raised two children with her partner. She's now not gay, and actually councils people against it. Question is, upon that breakup, why didn't she simply find another partner? Moreover, why is she speaking out against it today?
It's fine for you to believe that, and to never engage in those activities. It is also immoral for you to force that belief on others by way of assisting in the implementation of law.
So just to clarify, you believe that you should be able to push your beliefs off on others, as long as enough people agree with you? Or do you believe that morals should be dictated by law? Should coveting thy neighbor be a prosecutable offense?
I believe abortion is murder, so any law enacted (that is, voted in) to protect that fetus has my vote.
Hmmmm....there'd probably be a lot of women getting abortions just so they could do away with their deadbeat boyfriends.
Interesting. Like a law which forces pregnant women to eat well? Prevents them from smoking or doing other dangerous activities? Maybe a law which forces pregnant women to vaccinate? How about a law which forces pregnant women to avoid plastic (specifically phthalates)? These laws would also protect that fetus. Do they have your vote as well?
