Trade Ben Simmons poll

The more I look at it, the more I believe a deal with Portland and Philly will be done. The fact that Philly continues to put out their interest for Damian Lillard tells me there are real conversations being had. They know they won't get Dame, but they're posturing with an unattainable starting point hoping to net them more. There's been no other player other than Damian Lillard who Philly continues to talk about. That tells me they want a deal but want to extract as much as they can from Portland for Simmons.

Here's hoping it gets done!

 

It occurs to me that it’s pretty apropos that Ben Simmons’ initials are BS. I see nothing but BS in this entire situation.

 

One can only hope, then watch Morey crash and burn along with Doc.

Its could, but not unless Neil & Jody are convinced Ben wants to be here. We've got players now that want to be here, but if you're highest paid player doesn't want to be thats a problem.

 

He’s planning on sitting out and losing BIG money so as not to be in a dumpster fire basketball situation with a clueless coach and disrespectful teammate.

 

I notice with a few notable exceptions, the anti-Simmons camp leans heavily on perceived attitude issues based on the post-playoffs debacle this summer, along with poor outside shooting as their primary arguments against Simmons. Further, both seem heavily predicated, if not outright reliant, on the Atlanta series. Finally, most anti-Simmons posts seem hyper recent narrative driven rather than stats and overall performance based.

Sadly, it seems the remaining unconverted anti-Simmons camp, appear immune to any forward thinking solutions such as better coaching, better leadership from teammates and it seems thy are especially unable to comprehend Simmons being used poorly in Philadelphia and correctly in Portland as even within the realm of possibility.

Just some observations and of course some Anti-Simmons to PDX folks are quite nuanced and primarily focused on his perceived shortcomings in terms of attitude and mindset.

 

I’ll take Simmons….

Minny isn't going to send out KAT for Nurk and Simmons, IMO. Let alone adding in 2 first round picks.

 

In fairness, he is right about the FT shooting. If Simmons was a better FT shooter he would be the deadliest drive and dish slasher in the league. His 3 pt shooting wouldn't even be a subject of discussion.

 

Minny is said to be "all-in" on getting Simmons.
Does this involve giving up either of the assets people actually want (KAT and Anthony Edwards)?
Hell no!
So that gives you some idea of our competition for Simmons, if indeed we have offered what Stephen A. says his cousin's friend in Trinidad with the swollen testicles claims.

 

I'd rather have Nurk and Simmons than KAT and two picks, so why would we include Minny in this?

Because we all don’t want Simmons! KAT with Dame = Championship.

We include Philly because Minny doesn’t need CJ and if we get KAT, they’ll need Nurk. They want Simmons and the two picks are worth adding. Minny will be a playoff team. Philly gets something for Simmons (CJ and 3 first round picks) and with KAT, we have the best chance at winning a ring. Funny thing…it will be the second time we win a ring by beating Philly in the Finals!
