Shaq was actually in amazing shape early on in his career. Compare his weight in Orlando to what it was in even LA and it's a huge difference.

True! But he was young, and genetics starts to take over.

And Shaq was not human. His lower extremities could sustain the weight of his body and the force he put on them. Zion has already shown that his legs/knees/feet can't. I can't understand why team officials and all the medical personnel can't see the obvious move of trying to get him to slim down.

Also hilarious is the notion of him apparently taking his qualifying offer and foregoing the max. Given his injury history, that idea is nothing but clickbait.

I think they are just paying it ahead of the market. It could backfire, but that dude is a good basketball player and could easily become their #2 guy ahead of Murray.

They're gonna be in luxury tax hell for the foreseeable future, and this is not even accounting for the upcoming supermax for Jokic.

For him to actually reach that 200+ mil threshold, he has to make an All NBA team this year, so 172 is the real number for him. Not unreasonable given his scoring efficiency but they're banking on him staying healthy. Not sure about that.

That's a huge contract for a guy who is almost strictly just a scorer. Oof.

Worth every penny. This dude is a superstar imo. I told ya this when he got drafted and the last few years. In fact I was pissed Denver got him. Worth every penny. Lucky ass franchise just hitting on all their draft picks the last 5-6 years..

Dame averages 7.5 assists a game. CJ averages 4.7.
MPJ averages 1 per game for his career. 1 assist per game. That's terrible. He's just as bad as CJ at defense as well. So yeah, strictly a scorer.

but he's pretty prolific scorer. Well over 40% from 3 on volume, 21 PER, ~66% TS% and only at age 22.

He is, sure. I didn't say he was bad at the one thing that he offers. Just that he is strictly a scorer. CJ gets a whole lot of shit on this board, even the MeJ nickname, gets compared to Lou Will, etc., and has 4 times the assists that MPJ provides.
