All-Pro corner back Ty Law is pretty close to signing a deal with the JetsThere were rumors about Detroit...and then maybe even a pay cut and back to New England...and now NYJThis would make the Jets a very big contender for the AFC East...the Pats are vulnerable regardless of what anybody tells u...losing both coordinators and key parts of that defense and they could turn into a very unbalanced team...something they weren't in any of their three superbowl victories...with the addition of Law, NYJ would add to an already solid Defensive Unit...Even if they didn't beat the Pats, I think a Wild Car would be in the mix for themPEACE

Law would need to step in line.

This would be great for the Jets, Law would be a great leader for that defense.

Full Source - ESPN.com<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ty Law stood on the sidelines with his Jets helmet in his right hand, and watched intently as his new teammates practiced.Once a member of one of New York's biggest rivals, Law appeared right at home in his new green and white Jets uniform."It was basically a dream come true," Law said Monday. The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback agreed to a multiyear contract with the Jets after helping the New England Patriots win three Super Bowls in 10 seasons."There is nothing else to prove as far as I'm concerned with New England," the 31-year-old Law said. "I had 10 great years and three championships there, so the proof is in the books. Now it's time to go into the new chapter in my life and prove to the Jets that I'm worth everything they are willing to put out for me."The deal could be worth as much as $28.5 million for the first three years and as much as $50 million over seven years, agent Carl Poston said. The contract is laden with incentives -- among them leading the Jets to the Super Bowl -- and has options for both sides."I think this team is on the verge of doing something very special, and that's why I wanted to join them," Law said.</div>

Yeah, its great he signed with the Jets, the Jets are my secondary team now, like my second favorite team now. Plus, having them as my secondary team makes life easier for me, because I don't get taunted at school for liking the Eagles ( I live in New York ). But anyways, Ty Law will help the New York defense, which fell apart towards the end of the AFC Semi-Final game against Pitsburgh.

Having an offense will make more of a difference there then the defense.

This will help the Jets so much...But it pisses me off to see him go to New York after all the excitement of him coming to KC...at least they have Surtain. He was probably the way to go since he is younger.

Yea, I like the Chiefs and wanted him there. Until I saw them get Surtain, then I knew they had a good cb and that they wasn't gettin Law. I wouldn't of minded if he went to Pittsburgh either. He was one of the teams that he was interested in. But talks cooled down with them fast. I know the Steelers have the #1 total defense and #1 rush defense, but it wouldn't hurt to try to get the #1 pass defense either. HAHA ultimate defense. But now we're at the #4 pass defense, that's not that bad... not bad at all.Anyway, this is a good move for the Jets. Especially with the retirement of Donnie Abraham.
