We already know what it can do. We added one significant player and he's injury-prone. Unless Little has made huge strides I doubt we see more than a 2-3 game win difference. We have one season to impress Dame.

Again, again and again. Blazers added a coach to the team. Actual coach.

I'd like this more if CJ went to Philly and Jerami Grant and Cory Joseph came our way.

    Lillard/Joseph
    Powell/Simons
    Covington/Little
    Grant/Nance
    Nurkic/Zeller

    I think that's a championship contender.

Never thought much of Grant, and now we have Roco and Nance (and Little needs minutes) I rate him even less.

Good article. What he says makes a lot of sense. Honestly though, it still leaves me with 2 questions. First, you still have the issue of blending 2 guys who are best with the ball in their hands. (one who thrives in transition and one who is an assassin in the half-court) Second, if this guy is right it confirms the concern that Simmons and Nurk can't coexist.

Good article, but I dont believe we will get him. I think other teams could have more that we are willing to offer?

Agreed, we don't know shit about this team. Maybe it is the same old song and dance, or maybe they are worse, or maybe they are better.
No one knows about any team at this point for one simple reason. ...........Injuries. One star goes down on a team and it hurts.

And as you say, a whole new coaching staff is kind of a big deal. And a whole new bench.

Entirely different system and coach, the best bench we've had in years, a full season of Norm and possible jumps from Ant and Nas? We don't know what this team will be yet

I'm still open to doing what it takes to get a three time all star, two time all defensive first team, all nba player before seeing what this team can do with a new coach and bench. We only have one all star/all nba player on the roster currently and we have zero first team all defense players.

I'm open to Pascal Siakam, not Simmons. If this doesn't go too well, hopefully Siakam is available at the deadline.

Easy. On the rebound get it to Simmons who attacks before the defense is set. Then if there is no opportunity give it to Dame and use the side screen and roll and dribble hand offs, or get it to Simmons in the Low Post. Dame’s style of offense is always going to be there to capitalize on.

you liking the bench more this year, before seeing it play a second of basketball behind the starters, isn't the same as the "best bench in years"

further, you're banking on a lot of speculative value. Ant will have to improve a lot to be better than Curry and that's not close to a sure thing. Nas is unproven. Snell-Turner-Layman? distinctions without much of a difference; 8th or 9th men in rotations don't move any needles, IMO

Nance is a good role player, but Hood was a pretty good role player for Portland that year. And Kanter played a decisive role in Portland's 53 wins and appearance in the WCF. I don't have a problem with saying Zeller is as good or better than Zach and better than Meyers. But I never liked either one of those guys and thought they were overrated. Zeller is not better than Kanter though

I hope your guess about the strength of the bench is right. I'm unconvinced. It will probably be better than last year's bench; losing Melo is addition by subtraction in my view. But that 2018-19 bench was the best bench in the Stolshey era

Zeller can be on the floor in a critical playoff game unlike Kanter this past season. Nance is better overall impact player than Hood. Curry didn't play all that much for us. Nas scored 30 in a game last season so not totally unproven. Snell is better defender than Layman and better shooter than Turner.

Since we are guessing about the bench then I am adding McLemore to the discussion. Last year was hard to judge because he played on 3 teams, but IMO he played pretty well for the lakers at the end of the season. And many of their fans wanted him back. His defense was improved as well.

And the year before for Houston, he made 181 3's at a 40% clip. You can spin that any way you want, but how many of our bench players have ever done that? I am sure a few have but not that many.

I find it mildly irritating that we are never mentioned in any actual rumors. The news du jour:

"Inquiring about his availability"? Of course he's fucking available - he's literally sitting out, demanding a trade. Is this a euphemism for offering something new? Or does it mean they ring up and ask Morey "are you desperate enough to take our crappy offer yet?"
