3rd line might be a little rich for Barron right now, as i think he needs to show more in 4th line duty before getting into the top 9, but if his FO are good maybe. I think Gauthier will make it and i'd put him on the 3rd line to start and see how Chytil does at C for a bit even though i don't like him there. I think Barron is the spare and rotates in with Rooney.
I don’t see any way Gauthier makes it over Barron and I like him. I think he’ll be a spare as I don’t think Chytil is going to play every game if he stinks. Unless it has to do with certain players being able to clear waivers. Barron’s faceoffs are going to be an enormous deal as Gallant has put a major emphasis on it.
Even when Kravtsov comes back i think he'll go to Hartford for a month or two as he didn't look great in the few preseason games. Hajek i think will be the D spare, and Hunt on the forward side with Barron but we'll see. I would like to see Barron get a bunch of games in for his development. I think GG liked what Gauthier did so far to keep him in the lineup to start. Either way their C depth isn't great.
