Crime is up over most of the nation. Yet Portland is way above the national median.

It's weird that I have never received an alert for a post I was quoted in that was subsequently liked. And weird that in the settings, I can't see an option to show me notifications for posts where I am quoted that are liked. I may be wrong, and am happy to be shown that there is a way to show when you are quoted, and the post is liked, you are notified, but I've yet to see that in all my years posting here. Just seems like there's a few people that want to create more of a victim complex, and look for any ways to do it, including who likes what posts. So I'm happy to apologize if told otherwise, until then, I'm calling bullshit

That is 31 people's thoughts. Not close to historic numbers. The 31 people who were mad... Far more simply retired.

And I thought it was established in your prior link that it's the biggest wave in 15 years? In fact, this link specifically says its "one of the largest".

    Misrepresenting the facts isn't helpful.

I never said there is a notification. I said when im notified of something and its where someone quoted me, i read it and at the bottom are the likes. I don't have to go searching around like you do with posts like this.

Just sayin…and you try to spin it back on me being fixated with likes when its actually you who is. Ive just noticed it and called it out.

Except I never look at who likes a post. I don't give a shit. I've never commented on who has liked my or other's posts. You most clearly do. And call it out often. It's a weird obsession that you use to build a victim complex against yourself without knowing why people like posts.

I didn't have to "search" for this post. It's in a thread. If I haven't read the thread before it, it's the first one when sorted by new! Cool concept!

people quit thier jobs all the time to move, different career paths, etc. and aren't generally bitter like this.
To say this is normal isn't accurate having been in management and dealt with many hiring and firings over the years.
Yes they are bitter. And they stated why.

Yes, that's how median works. Some are higher, some are lower.

But while crime rates were dropping for 30 years until over a decade ago, that trend has reversed over the entire country.

Of course different places will be impacted differently by that changing trend.

But why did that trend change? That is the important question, IMO. We should set our sights higher than improving to a rising crime rate. We'll eventually get to that point by doing nothing.

That has no relation at all to my post. Your obsession with just yelling spin doesn't either. But I don't think you actually understand that. Cheers.

I went on a work trip this spring, lengthwise through basically the entire state of California. Carlsbad was easily one of the nicest towns I visited. Laid back and well kept without being real uppity. The mountains out in eastern San Diego county were impressive, the highlight of my trip. I think Sacramento was probably the lowlight. Sorry if anyone’s from there, I’m sure there are nice spots. Unfortunately the nature of my job either lands me on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere, or in the shittiest part of a large city. It’s an interesting coin to flip. I try to go check out cool shit wherever I go but don’t always have the time.
