    I think if CJ starts the season off similarly to the way he did last and has better defense, that Morey might be calling to make the straight up swap himself. When we talk about better offers I just wonder what offers those might be. If Dame, Beal or Kyrie aren't being offered then there really aren't a lot of better fits for what the Sixers need than CJ is. I don't think DLo is as good as CJ or fits as well and no one else seems to be knocking down the Sixers' door trying to get at Simmons. More people aren't going to want Simmons because he sits out and the offers will not go up. The Sixers will either be losing a ton more games which makes them have far less leverage or they won't be losing too many and that makes Simmons' value look worse.

    The Sixers have put themselves in a real conundrum and I hope we're the beneficiaries.

    so far I've learned that:

    * Billups will be COY

    * CJ will be an all-star

    * Little will win MIP (if he beats out Ant)

    * Nance will be in the running for 6th man of the year

    thank god Jordan Kent won't be there to go homer apeshit every game

    having a great pt guard as a coach is the difference for Ant...and I've got to say Ant looks stronger this season..he has made a leap this season..I don't see it as Stotts failure but Ant's progress. Chauncey is the perfect mentor for Ant. When Stotts used him at point he looked lost previous seasons so he used him as a two guard 3 pt shooter only...I wouldn't have trusted Ant to run the offense previous years ..all in all Ant is ready to make that leap..he should be ....his rookie days are gone and he's got the right coach for making the switch...we were never a great passing team with Dame or CJ running the point either...hopefully the days of ISO ball are in the past

    pisses me off. This isn’t even about Billups. How many years were wasted with Stotts?

    Can't put my finger on ONE thing that Chauncey does, but just the way he speaks inspires confidence. I see no doubt in his ability to keep guys bought in, especially if Dame/Nurk/CJ are all engaged. And his strategy with regards to both ends of the floor is verbatim what we all have griped about for years.

    He might struggle with the nuances of game play but that's where Brooks will be crucial.

    Really encouraging from a guy who now only has 1 game under his head coaching belt.

    Not as many as the playoff drought before Stotts....I like Chauncey but he hasn't won anything yet as a coach or made the playoffs...I think he will...we'll see

    It's baffling to me that calling guys out in film sessions is such a novel concept. Like WTF did Stotts do to these guys?

    yeah...Nate only had BRoy, Aldridge,l Andre Miller, Oden,,....no gifting there eh? I've enjoyed every season of Blazer ball except the Kaleb Canales Luke Babbitt Felton season.....every season....choices...3 seasons ago WCF for the first time in 14 years...yeah...that's an accomplishment and Damian Lillards development happened under what coach? I have no anger about anything Terry Stotts ever did as a Blazer...total class act and found a way to win through a shit ton of injuries....I'm stoked about Chauncey but appreciate the last 9 years of hoops with Stotts and Lillard....the hate for the guy is not justified in my view.

    one thing I’ve noticed is how much more detail dame gets in with these interviews. I’m a big believer in a team and the players taking on the personality of their head coach, and this might be the best example.

    Powell is sore....Zeller has to have reconstructive surgery as his nose was crushed and couldn't be reset...he's being fitted for a mask and will have surgery Friday...no news on how long he'll be out.

    Roy was the only superstar Nate had. Rookie year he wasn’t healthy. Second year they finished .500, but missed the playoffs because the west was a monster back then, the eighth seed won 50 games. Stotts made the playoffs multiple times with either a .500 record or below. The next three seasons that Roy was relatively healthy they made the playoffs. I see two coaches that underachieved. Not gonna pat Stotts on the back for maybe being slightly better than the other underachiever.

    Dunleavy had Jemaine O'Neal buried on the bench and he sure turned out to be a superstar....fact is under Nate Nas or Ant would never sniff the court back then...he didn't play rookies much. Nate played the same guys....Stotts played 170 different players in 9 years mostly due to injuries....Nurk was beasting before his leg fell off....he could have been an allstar had he not lost two seasons of play. Oden was definitely an allstar lock if he could have stayed on the court...it's part of the game. Roster stability is what makes teams great....Golden State had that when they knocked us out of the playoffs and went on their domination of the league for a few years...Dame has played very tough western conf competition since his rookie year. The west didn't get weaker after Nate was fired
