I predict a tie. Hopefully no injuries for the Ducks.

don't be so sure. Bennett Williams, Justin Flowe, and Bradyn Swinson were all injured in practice. So was an OLineman and Adrian Jackson

Time to change quarterbacks. Ducks have nothing to lose now.

However, I suspect coach will probably see it the opposite way. With Verdell out, he'll probably want to stick with his experienced players more than ever, in a futile attempt to make the playoffs.

they are 4-1; they have 2 of the 3 best wins among Pac-12 schools. They can win the North Division and play for the Pac-12 championship. They can win the Pac-12 championship and play in the Rose Bowl. They can run the table and still make it to the playoffs. They'd be the only Pac-12 team that would get a playoff berth with a 12-1 record. That's a hell of a lot to lose

do I think they will do all that?...no. They are simply too wrecked from injuries, many of them season-ending. And Anthony Brown is too prone to bad reads, bad decisions, and bad passes. Unfortunately, all that's left behind him are three freshman QB's who very likely are not ready for prime time. Marcus Mariota didn't play a minute in a game until his 2nd season in the system. Justin Herbert was another true freshman thrust into the starting lineup because of the struggles of the starter. His record as the starting QB his freshman season was 2-5. This is obviously a more talented team that Herbert's; but this team also has gaping holes in the lineup because of those injuries. Herbert had Royce Freeman & Tony Brooks James at RB, and an experienced OLine to work behind. He had receiving targets like Darren Carrington, Charles Nelson, and Pharoh Brown. And still, only a 2-5 record

I know there are lots of Duck fans convinced that Ty Thompson, as a true freshman, would come in and vastly outperform Brown. I think that's unrealistic. I'd probably make the change if I was Cristobal just because I think Brown will lose a game or two on his own. But I'd expect the next QB will do the same

So around here they make a thread for the Ducks on their Bye week but exclude the BEAVERS who happen to be leading the Pac?

This is the epitome of disrespect!

Herbert's first start in 2016 was against Cal and 4 of the 5 starting OLineman were Redshirt Freshman. Compared to the current situation, Herbert had a vastly inexperienced OLine to work behind.

I wish the coaches felt good enough about the youngins to turn the page on Brown, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

his first start was against Washington, the week before Cal. The depth chart at the time had 4 redshirt freshmen listed as the starters but juniors Jake Pisarchik and Doug Brenner were the experienced linemen who acted as firemen when the young guys got out of sync

Herbert had 3 year starters Darren Carrington, Charles Nelson, and Dwayne Stanford (until he was injured) to throw too at WR, and 3 senior TE's in Pharoh Brown, Evan Bayliss, and Johnny Mundt.

unfortunately, that was the year of Brady Hoke as the DC and he built the work defense in Duck history

You stated that opposed to the current situation, that Justin Herbert had an experienced OLine to work behind and then site two backups with a combined 3 starts prior to that season in which they started a combined zero games. Every single guy on the current underwhelming OLine is older then and has at least 3-4 times as many starts as those two scrubs who'd been passed over by Freshman. Good grief man, are you going to argue what experienced means?

Unfortunately Brady Hoke was hired as a DC as he'd never been a coordinator before on any level, but thats what happens when you go shopping at the coaching bargain bin. Even more unfortunate were injuries/disgraceful exits (Maloata) to most of the starters and backups in the front 7.
