You could take out Nurk and Zellers name, replace them with pretty much any other center in the league, and it would still apply. Bigs get hurt, it comes with the position.

You're guest solution is to bring help one pass away. We gave up a ton of threes because we overhelped one pass away.

If you think our schemes were good when we've been a bottom 3 defense the last two years, Idk what to tell ya. I'm definitely going to give Chauncey more than one preseason game before being discouraged.

I will give Billups sometime to see if his defense schemes going to work. But also where JDC was saying too. But hopefully we will see improvement on that side of the ball tomorrow.

Good opportunity for all the camp invites to play. Also, Brown.

Remember what team Anfernee had his breakout game against in his rookie year...

That said, they've drafted two very good guard defenders since then.

Help one pass away is way more common in today's NBA.

And every NBA team helps at the nail to some degree.

Far too often, Nas seems to have some nagging issue that keeps him from playing. It's not an isolated incident anymore.

Leaving good shooters open one pass away for wide open catch-and-shoot 3s in order to prevent a downhill 2v1 against your big just isn't a good base scheme in my opinion. Regardless on how much we disagree on drop, I think you should give Billups a little bit more of a chance before you become discouraged.

I'm willing to give him time.

Just not optimistic it's going to work. Don't think it's the best use of our personnel and it's been shown to not work in today's NBA.

It's why we only see it doses (mostly with guards you aren't wanting to switch with, or 4's that can't switch or protect the rim) and nearly nobody has used it as their base scheme in the last 5+ years.

And a hamstring is one of the very worst nagging injuries to have at the beginning of the season.
