this might be the most ridiculous post i've seen on this forum. the mental gymnastics required to come to this logic has me spellbound.
dude had a 1-39 record as the Pilots' head coach in his conference during his final 3 seasons. multiple players from his time in Phoenix as the Suns coach excoriated him publicly for having no strategy other than wanting to be different from D'Antoni. just a ridiculous comparison.
Maybe someone can look this up but how many coaches have been given 9 years with the same team and not brought that team to the finals?
1. You might want to ration that hyperbole 2. You either haven't read much on this forum or your memory's terrible 3. Put it in context as a comment on Sly's "time for change" post. 4. Logic's got nothing to do with it.
No, I wasn’t disagreeing you, I was impressed with your vocab. As far as TP goes, I heard some bad stuff from one of his staff members about how he treated people. Not a fan.
This transition with a new coach and staff was never going to be seamless....we just lost an assistant coach...Chauncey should offer that spot to Terry...problem solved!
From rebuild to result (result being making the finals) I would give GMs and Coaches 6 years if I was a team owner.
In his tenth and eleventh seasons as the head coach. Through nine seasons they had been further in the playoffs more consistently than we were with Stotts and had won games in the conference finals. I wanted Stotts fired for a long time but the only other coach that got as long of a rope without finals appearances was Sloan.
