I wasn't referring to here other than it reminded me of people working in the field who really needed to not make mistakes and then can't even spell missile as in N U C L E A R missiles. Seems like you wouldn't want to make a lot of errors when working on nukes.
I get called out aT times for some admittedly shitty typed posts. But feel the same. Im not writing a memo to nasa or a manual for policy change here. Lol. ive won awards for my writings, but i dont consider this place a contest. Lol.
Surely there are more important important peeves generally speaking but when you're working on projects where details are vitally important like making nuclear missiles it kind of hits a person like me who is trying to assure that nukes work exactly as designed in the gut when you see repeated errors relating to something you really should know and could mean minor errors that could involve Millions of lives. Don't you think people should be careful with nuclear missiles?
That ship has sailed. China has hypersonic nukes now. Technology so advanced it's never been witnessed before last week, except for the many "UFO" sightings over the decades. We have nothing to stop them.
We have the world's only antimissile missile. When I was at Boeing in 1986 we took out an orbiting satellite in outer space, no mean feat. Fast forward 35 years, don't you think we're better at that stuff now? These things only go about 20% as fast as a ballistic missile.
China has tested their system successfully, but that’s not the same as deploying it. Ours are in testing. The test a couple of days ago was a bust, but I’m sure we won’t be far behind. That’s the nature of an arms race. In the meantime, we have more than enough air, sea, and land-based systems to protect ourselves.
We haven't had anything to stop them since they learned to make ICBMs decades ago... Nothing has changed.
I like to show that I've still got a pair. My jeans look really good on an overweight man in his 70s.
There are high level communication channels between China and the United States including between their highest general and ours. Our top commanding officer has reassured them that there is no immediate threat of military action by us and if there ever is we will announce to them that such action is impending. They have accepted that message spoken over an audio connection. They have reduced their level of threat while we have never had one.
You have no idea what we are capable of since our capabilities are above top secret. I've learned of a few at Boeing, one of which I worked on. We don't tell the world about our level of progress on top secret military projects. e.g. Do you realize that in 1986 we fired a rocket from an F-16 that took out an American satellite? That was 35 years ago.
China lashes out at U.S. for supporting Lithuania in feud with Beijing over Taiwan What a confusing headline.
Heard a sonic boom here on the Big Island a few days back. Wasn’t sure whether it was the volcano, fireworks or what. Neighbor with years in the military told me he was told it was two US jets intercepting a Chinese recon jet. Another person on the island has told me the exact same thing. Interesting, whether real or not…
If it was 6 days ago I'd say fireworks...the Chinese and Russians have been trolling our airspace and coastal space for the last 5 years now...lots of activity in Alaskan airspace
