Three-time Pro Bowl tight end Bubba Franks, absent from the Green Bay Packers during the entire offseason after declining to sign the one-year qualifying offer as a "transition" free agent, has reached agreement with the club on a seven-year, $28 million contract.Whole Story Here...

While the guy is good, he is no Gonzalez/Gates/Witten/Heap/Shockey/Crumpler/McMichael. I put him as the top of the 2nd tiered TE's.As for getting 7 years out of him, the deal is probably structured so he will be cut after like 4 or 5 years and he wont need to play that long. [IMG]

Look at the Pack's offensive scheme - he's vital for success.

o yea i agree he is the only tight end on the team that can catch lol but he gives them help on both run and pass.

Yeha they needed him. Its not that he's amazing like Gates or Gonzalez but he's extremely consistent and I'm glad he's staying for 7 years.

Franks really isn't a TE you'd like on your fantasy team in the average league, but is a servicable TE otherwise. Can they get 7 years out of him? Probably. Will they? If they want to.This isn't your National Basketball Association... lol
