    1. LaDainian Tomlinson - This one is obvious. He is definetely the best running back in the league. He can run, catch, block, and anything else you ask him to do. He broke a record early in his career when he caught 100 passes in one season, never done by any other running back. He is probably the most versatile running back in the league. With 4 years of his career done, he averages 1475 yards and 13.5 touchdowns a season, and that's just on the ground.2. Shaun Alexander - He is definetely top when it comes to the ground game. He does receive a little, but not as much since Hasselbeck has been trying to become an offensive weapon. I remember one game I watched Alexander get 4 total touchdowns.... in the first half. He is also very consistent. He stayed with a 4.0 or more rushing average, for the season, his whole career. He's had 14 or 16 rushing touchdowns every season except his rookie season, where he had 2...after starting 1 game. Imagine if he started his rookie season. He'd have an average of 15 - 16 rushing touchdowns a season.3. Priest Holmes - The touchdown machine. Priest Holmes wasn't really great in the beginning of his career. He didn't have a carry his rookie season. And although he had 1000 yards in his second year, the next two years he was behind Jamal Lewis on the Ravens. Then he arrived in KC, where he's been a contuingly dominating force. Having over 1400 yards on the ground each year except the last. Where he got injured after an amazing start. Looking at them 8 games he played last year, you can see that if he continued the way he did, he woulda had 30 total touchdowns, which would have broke his record of 27. Speaking of 27, Priest Holmes holds the record for running back touchdowns in a season with "27". With Priest healthy again, he is expected to come back and take another attempt at breaking the record again. Last year he said he wanted to break the record for rushing yards. Which means he would have to have about 2200 rushing yards. Now that he's back, he's expected to go right back after that record, also.4. Edgerrin James - He's always been a great target for Peyton Manning. While he hasn't caught a touchdown since 2002, he has had more than 50 receptions every year in his career except 2001....when he was injured for more than half the season. One of his best seasons was surprisingly his rookie season. In his rookie season he had 1553 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 62 receptions, 586 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns. One of the best rookie seasons I've ever seen. He has also started EVERY game he played in the NFL. He has only lost 1 fumble in his career. He has fumbled a few times but the defense only picked it up once. So he stays away from turnovers. 5. Curtis Martin - THE most consistent back in the league, hands down. He has had more than 1000 yards on the ground EVERY season. And the highest, 1697, came last year...which was his 10TH NFL SEASON!!! With 1697 he led the league in rushing last year, with 1 yard on Shaun Alexander. Curtis has also played and started every game in the season since 1999. And has only missed 4 games out of 160. He too, like the 4 names above him, has his name called in the receiving game. He has caught 30 or more passes in every season of his career. Resulting in 460 career receptions, 3211 career receiving yards, and 10 career receiving touchdowns. Will age ever catch up to Curtis?6. Jamal Lewis - He had a problem last year. Jail, injury last season, suspensions. He is also not a receiving back, he hardly ever gets receptions. But the year 2003 showed what Jamal Lewis can do and will do if he doesn't get in more trouble. He ran for over 2000 yards on the season. He almost broke the NFL record for rushing yards in a season. Then he got a great amount of rushing touchdowns. 7. Corey Dillon - Another consistent back. He has had more than 1000 yards on the ground every season except 2003, where Rudi Johnson and him shared carries. Besides being outshined in Cincinnati that year, he's been a great back. He's not one of the above running backs, he doesn't get a lot of receptions. But he can catch the ball when you need him too. He had 43 receptions in 2002, which is his highest. However in 2003 and 2004 he had 15 or less receptions on the season. This season he'll be going into his 9th, and we'll see if he can hold up like Curtis Martin and other durable backs.8. Clinton Portis - Besides the slip last season, Clinton has been a dominating young force in the NFL. In his 2 years with the Broncos he had over 1500 yards. And both of them years he missed 7 total starts. So imagine if he was there and started for all 16 games in both of them seasons with Denver. He would have near or over 1800 rushing yards in his first two years. He also has a career rushing average of 4.9 right now. Which is better than everyone in the NFL right now. Last season he had only 5 rushing touchdowns, but that was with a depleted Redskin line. With the O line healthy again. Clinton is expected to do what he did in Denver and maybe more. And although he had 1300 rushing yards last season, he had alot more attempts than he did in Denver, so that was bad. Anyway, Clinton is also a decent receiving back, with around 35 receptions every season. Clinton is expected to step up alot this season. And you know what, HE'S 23 YEARS OLD!!!9. Tiki Barber - Now Tiki wasn't always one of the good running backs. Early in his career he didn't get many carries, and he didn't rush good anyway. Especially with all the fumbles. He fumbled 49 times in his career. And 20 of them resulted in turnovers, which is not good. But last season he fumbled less with his new carrying style. And with that came 5th place in rushing yards last season. Getting 1518 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He is also one of the best when it comes to running back receiving. Last season he averaged 11.1 yards per reception. In his last 6 seasons he has had more than 50 receptions. However, like Curtis Martin, Tiki is going into his 9th season. And his durability will be tested, especially since he's a finesse back and shouldn't last as long as the bigger runners.10. Rudi Johnson - Despite not playing at all in his rookie season, and having 17 carries his second season... Rudi Johson broke out of his shell and was a great surprise. He came out of nowhere and ran Corey Dillon out of Cincinnati. He only started 5 games in 2003 and still wound up with about 1000 rushing yards. And in 2004 where there was no Dillon to hold him down he ran for 1454 yards and 12 touchdowns. Even though he is not one of the receiving backs (15 receptions last season) he is still a promising young back. As he is doing his thing at only 25 years old.

top ten is way too hard to determine.. like up from top 5 its just ur preferencei'll just do top 5..1. LT ( has everything a rb needs to)2. Priest ( I almost put him below Lewis, but I can't.. I just hope he bounces abck from injury's and proves me right)2. Jamal Lewis ( I know, I know.. but he's so so strong.. I just can't put him lower, it would be disrespectful, and as somebody said.. he was just a 2000 yard rushin back two seasons ago)4. Shaun Alexander ( although he is a pussy, and doesnt like to take a hit and rather go out of bounce, he's still a great RB. He can bounce outside and run between the tackles, has catching abilities too.5. Curtis Martin ( he's old, but I love the guy.. and who doesnt? I only put him number 5 because i just read article bout him that he has inmproved his speed, and that should allow longer runs then last year (longest run last year- 25 yards) and he did win the rushing title last year.and I love if you guys explain ur choices.

Yea, I saw that run. Right up the middle, and gone. He's going to have a starting job pretty soon.
