not sure i see the point of 40-50 games of bagley if we don't intend to pay him. a straight up deal only brings us down about a mil in salary too, so we'd still have to dump others to duck tax.
I don’t really see a logical trade and I’m not sure the Knicks would move him; but I still think Julius Randle is underrated.
Chris Boucher is buried in Toronto. They have no need for Robert, but that's an undervalued asset I'd like to bring in. He makes only 7 mil this year and is a FA. Need more contracts and third team there. Toronto could be a good Nurk team too.
Would Atlanta trade Jalen Johnson and Delon Wright for RoCo? Or basically any combination of Jalen Johnson and salary filler (Delon Wright, Lou Williams, Solomon Hill, Gorgui Dieng).
i dont see ATL giving him up that quickly even if they have a ton of wings ahead of him. NYK otoh needs a shakeup and a wing. Reuniting with Thibs could be exactly what Roco needs. I'd take any of their young guys or a pick with salary for him. Kemba + 1st for Roco?
Dario Saric for Robert Covington works too. Saric has 2 years left on his deal but out for this season due to torn ACL. Gets us under the tax but that's it. Dario Saric + Jalen Smith for RoCo and Cody Zeller/Ben McLemore?
I HIGHLY doubt we can get a 1st. If we can get a first we should take it yesterday. Probably looking at Kevin Knox + Taj Gibson/Kemba. Taj would get us under the tax. Kemba would not. Also I would hate to take on Kemba's 8M next year for no reason.
Taurean Prince + 2 2nds. This doesn't get us under the tax but I'm sure Minny would trade 2 seconds to get RoCo back. Layman + Bolmaro + Okogie? Blazers will take any sort of athleticism at this point.
The play is to try and get a guy who is under contract next year and kick this can a little further, hoping we hit. I think Saric or Will Barton are the 2023 FA nearest his salary range that we could possibly get some traction with.
They (or at least Lakers fans) view and value THT the way this forum values Little. And from what I can tell, the Lakers organization considers Horton-Tucker to be an important future building block. I think they overrate him, but even then, they're not trading him for the broken-down shell of Covington and they shouldn't.
Covington/McLemore for Bullock/Josh Green gets us under the tax, kicks the can 2 years with Bullock (3 year/30M), and gets a young player to boot. Josh Green sucks but it's whatever. Chauncey seems to do better with the younger guys. Bullock also sucks, but like you said, it kicks the can down the road, and also he does something our other guards can't do, and that's get around a pick. Moses Brown instead of Green also works. I'd be fine getting Moses back. I don't think you could get Will Barton though without attaching yet another 1st, although Dame would love having him back. Plus Barton can handle the ball and pass a bit, even if he's got a bit of MeJ in him.
