Started the season at the end of the 1st round, but was 10-15 through most of the year. Went 4th when everyone had Bayless in that spot. But regardless, look through the rest of the draft and there's literally no one else they could be talking about. The quote implies the player is still playing, and long gone before 13. It could only be DJ Augustin or Westbrook. I don't think he would be bragging about his player evaluation skills if he was talking about DJ Augustin, and 5-10 picks before Pritchard thought he would go would place the around 5th.
figured that was the obvious guess. dude didn't even play PG at UCLA next to Collison-- he shot up in the draft,
Oh I do. Collision was the guy at UCLA and Westbrook was kind of an after thought and not a 5 star recruit. Then Westbrook kind of boomed onto the scene
With Little and Naz we have two appealing assets that you can couple with Powell, Nurk, CJ & RoCo various combinations. Use to acquire guys that fit Billups idea of a balanced team. He's not going to want to trade Naz but he would for the right veteran player. I see a tenacious defensive two guard and a lengthy 3/4 in our near future.
“We have a stable group who can win a good amount of ball games,” Cronin said. “Taking risk means you might increase your downside … but also give you an opportunity to raise your ceiling. Those are the (trades) I’m most interested in. I’m OK missing on a trade if I thought it gave us a good chance to bump up to a whole another level. I’m OK taking a step back when we are taking a swing.” THIS is what I had been begging Olshey to do. Stop resting on your laurels because we made the playoffs every year. GO FOR IT. This is also exactly what Dame has been wanting for us to do, so he has all reason to be fully committed now. First time in a while, I feel optimistic.
lol...you do know I don't give a shit about how caustic you are...? you made a thread....I posted my thoughts in the thread. Get over it again, I'm reserving judgement on Cronin till I see what he actually accomplishes. Just like I reserved judgement on Billups. In both cases. I've seen people get all excited and optimistic by what they said before they did anything
idk but if we still have a three guard lineup (and specifically CJ) post deadline it won’t matter who Cronin trades for. We could have LeBron at PF and we’d still be average at best.
seems like a normal and reserving judgement, common sense approach, same one I take. I wish Cronin well and hope he does well as that would imply a better team to watch and enjoy as opposed to the current roster and low quality of Bball we now have (for me at least). Not going to get overly excited or pessimistic - I am from MISSOURI on this - SHOW ME!
More details here from Quick Characterizes him as aggressive and thorough. Surprised also to hear how involved Cronin had been in the Olshey regime. Says he's had a long history of dealing with agents/players/teams.
Glad to see he was a scout at one time; but wonder how much input he had in Pritchard's final disastrous draft?
Sounds as if Ms. Allen enjoys the games more when she is sitting with him. This should help him keep his job and hopefully also mean that Allen would be willing to go deep financially at some point if needed, as she becomes more of a fan.
