I don't want either of those two guys gone either but if it turns CJ into a legit second all star, who makes sense with Chauncey's schemes, at a position of need then I think we have to take the loss of one of those two.
The only way to improve through trading is to move good players for a great player...people probably won't like it but our best trade pieces are actually guys like Ant, Nas, Powell and Larry Nance Jr...Roco is a throw in for the most part or Roco and Nurk are both expiring so sure....but if you want an impact player you have to move a high value player to get one in return....Larry Nance will net you a much better player than Roco and Norm's contract is easier to trade than CJs.....I don't want to lose any of our good players either but that's pretty much how you take a big swing
I'm good with trading CJ, ANT, roco and nurk. Roco can just go with whatever package. But CJ and Nurk can net us a lot because nurk is an expiring.
Anyone want to venture a guess as to how long it takes Cronin to pull the trigger on a significant trade?
I think he will attempt within two weeks. It might not come to fruition or be complete until much later though. But i think he has something to submit to ownership within two weeks. Winning alot or losing alot may play a roll in the timeline tbough.
need to define "significant" I mean, would off-loading RoCo in order to get under the tax line be significant or just wise cap-management? Personally, I don't think RoCo for a cheaper player would be very significant trading CJ would be significant, but I don't think it will happen (unless the Blazers continue to lose games at a high rate). With Dame potentially coming back and 11 of the next 14 games at home, I think Portland will likely stop the bleeding, at least for a while
guessing the interim gig comes with a pay increase. that suit looked on point tonight. also.... holy hell does this roster need a reset
I think that's the only way we're going to get a better wing player....if we make trades we're going to send talent out if we want talent back otherwise you'll be trading CJ Elleby for Anthony Tolliver
Somewhat repetitive, right? (Neil/pile of sh!t) left a pile of (Neil/pile of sh!t) for Joe to work with. Pile of (Neil/Sh!t)
