Kinda crazy that an impending free agent would have trouble playing hard. Then again he already got paid, so maybe not. As much as I would love to blame Olshey for this trade, I can’t. It’s on the player to give effort. I totally believe Billups’ words about pride were aimed primarily at Roco. This move just proves it. I’d be SHOCKED if he were still here after the deadline. Billups has probably already told Cronin to get this guy off the team.
posting a net rating for a lineup that has played a total of 28 possessions is pretty damn silly (Richman, Rasta, not you)
No way they are as good defensively as those 28 possessions. On the same note, no way they are as bad offensively. Either way, there is some obvious defensive improvements (theoretically) and offensive deficiencies with swapping the PFs.
This is a good move but wouldn't make much of a difference. CJ needs to be benched also as he allows a gazillion points per possesion on defense. Move him to the bench and let him play with both Roco and the ultimate defender, my man Tony Snell
I’m torn on this to be honest. Not Roco being benched but the “what took so long” part. It shows Chauncey is willing to let players try and play through a rough patch and won’t have a quick hook. An interesting blend of holding players accountable while still maintaining trust and relationships with players. That said, around the 20 game mark I think is when it should’ve been done.
I will give Nance a chance at PF but we still missing a rim protector that not only block shots but make people miss. I know his defense rating is good but there a lot go in to a stat.
Nance hesitates shooting the ball at times. If he's going to be a starting 4 he needs to get to the hoop and not shy away from shooting because the 4 guys on the court wont be. Especially 1-3.
When some media were saying players were upset with Billups' coaching style, RoCo's camp was among the first that came to mind. You'd think he'd like this approach, but his body language and focus indicates apathy.
