chauncey hasn't even been here long enough for you to learn to spell his name correctly, but let's get rid of him already.

Dude why do you bother with these guys? They aren’t fans of the Blazers, they’re Terry Stotts loyalists. They’re allegiance is to Terry and only Terry. There’s about a half dozen of them who frequent this forum and anyone posting here regularly will know who they are.

Wonder why you picked the last 6 games instead of all the games after Murray went down?

And you consider that “rolling”? Do you even understand what that term means? And how could you bet against your boy Stotts? If his offense was so amazing, how come he couldn’t figure out a strategy to outwit a depleted Nuggets team? Surely Dame & CJ must be better than Campazzo and Rivers in your mind?

I’m willing to give Chauncey some time before jumping to conclusions about whether he’s a good fit as coach of this team. You and your posse on this forum aren’t even willing to give the man 30 games and are clamouring for the rehiring of the guy, who in 9 seasons, never led the team to anything meaningful. But you do you, guy.

The idea the Rasta would have a "posse" on this forum is hilarious....sensationlize much? I like Stotts and Billups...some people can separate the two without losing Blazer fandom cred....more people do not like Stotts here than those who did...that's a no brainer...you'd be hard pressed to find 12 S2 members who want Stotts back as coach...I'm all in on the Chauncey era but anyone with a basketball mind knows Chauncey is not a better coach yet....though he probably will be when he gets comfortable. I'm willing to give Chauncey a couple of seasons to implement his culture on the team..the fact is that the Stotts hating posse was rampant around here for his entire tenure...it was ridiculous to me...I cheered for every game he coached and when NO beat us and Denver beat us....I give credit to NO and Denver for stepping up and doing that...you win some you lose some...and when we limped into the western conf finals it wasn't Dame carrying us past the Nuggets in 4OT fashion....it was CJ, Rodney Hood and the defense of Evan Turner...Enes was incredible with one arm to play with for the whole series...I cheered big time for that team. If you tried you could find a lot of enjoyment in the Stotts era....it was better than what we'd seen since Sheed was a Blazer.

Weren't you saying that any coach would make this team way better? How's that going?

I continue to say Stotts was fine, not amazing, not terrible, and the coaching wasn't the main problem. People so blindly obsessed with blaming the coach (it's already happening to Billups now) have to push a false narrative to defend their stance that Stotts was holding us back.

Since I don't think Billups is a horrible coach and the main problem, am I a Billups apologist too?

I have doubts Terry will coach again given his age and his desire to travel with his wife....he's at retirement age. If he did come back the Kings would be fools not to hire him as he'd probably get them back in the playoffs for the first time in eons.

And yet there you are “liking” any post that praises Terry Stotts. Your words say one thing but your actions say something very different.

I like the Billups posts too... I think the coaches are fine. What is wrong with that?

praise is your word and not really accurate but it's serving your purpose...liking posts isn't cult behavior contrary to what you're alluding to..as I said...it's not as dramatic as you are projecting to like somebody you don't like. No big deal...hate on Stotts...it's your choice...you've got plenty of support for that around here.

Nine years as our head coach says you're more than a little out to lunch on this one.

I expected us to lose that one. They had our number. We only ever beat them when AD was injured.

No reason not to praise Terry Stotts. He did the best that could be expected with the roster he was given.

Terry Stotts should be recognized for his coaching acumen in recognizing the strengths and, even more importantly, weaknesses of the rosters he was dealt by Olshey. Despite the constant whining around here about the isolation-oriented play and the lack of defense, he knew that in Dame and CJ he had one great and one very good isolation stars. He also knew that no matter how much people might wish for a strong defense, those two guys and the mismatched set of roster luggage surrounding them aren’t wired for it. On top of that, the energy required to to improve the defense takes away from the ability to be a top offense. He built an offensive juggernaut out of what he had for a roster and it was good enough to make the playoffs for most of the past decade. Sure, it wasn’t going to win in the playoffs, but, as we’re now seeing under Chauncey, wanting to play like his Detroit championship team requires players with the skills and physical attributes to play that way. Effort and commitment can’t always overcome limitations.
