Everytime Dame struggles he says he’s injured. That just happen every single time he had to deal with struggles or shooting slumps (which is happen right now). Dame is getting old? Is time to move from him? Is he Washed? Questions
Well, last I heard he was getting injections for pain prior to the Griz game. I would say that means he is still injured. What this organization needs to do is sit him for the rest of the year. There is no chance to make the postseason and therefore no reason to risk more injuries. Develop the younger guys and tank in the process for a pick.
I don't get this reply, "seems like he is ok", but yet his shooting remains horrible, and given his awful D as you say where does that leave us? And if he is OK then is this the "washed out" Dame as the OP asked and the new norm? If this is the new reality or anywhere close to it then I say trade him now while he still has some significant trade value. Now if the injury is still bothering him then shut him down for the year and get it fixed.
Wall, Kemba and Isaiah Thomas seem like cautionary tales for where this is going. Do you want to be caught holding the bag when the rest of the NBA realizes he's on a sharp downturn in productivity?
I seriously don't understand how one can say that about Dame but think Nurkic is one of the best players in the league.
I think a better question would be: Should Dame take more time off as to heal properly (since they're not going anywhere this year, barring a miracle trade) and he'll eventually return closer to his averages (maybe not scoring 28-30 ppg, but definitely not shooting sub-par %) OR are his #'s going to plummet from here on out. I think it's more the former and not the latter. Honestly, at this point I hope he takes time off and gets his issue fixed. I know he's probably too proud to deal with it, but it's not like it's been 5-9 games...we're going on like 25 games of shitty play from him. That's over a quarter of the season. I dont think you can write off a quarter of a season as just a "slump".
Right on. Thought i remembered that. Well to answer your question. No he isn't washed up and done. But i believe if he keeps pushing himself he might push himself right into that washed up bathtub. I wish he would shut himself down and get right for next season, let us get a good pick and use it to better the team.
That's how the kids are saying it these days though. They say a player is washed instead of washed up. I can understand why @Rastapopoulos wouldn't like that. Someone who starts twenty threads a week doesn't seem like he'd really be into contraction.
