he's also on a super-max. That will depress his already depressed market, at least for returning any players suitable for a rebuild

I think you can get Simmons/Thybulle/1st for Dame today. I’d probably ask for Maxey instead of the 1st though.

about Dame....this is the first season Dame has played as a married man. Maybe Cronin's first task should be to seek an annulment

I think if Cronin really wanted to blow it up tonight, he could get Ingram, Hayes and picks for Dame. I think he could turn CJ, RoCo, Nurk and Larry into enough value (involving how many ever teams he had to) to get Ben Simmons and some bad contracts... hell those four guys would probably yield Ben, a rotation level young player and bad contracts. Then we have a rotation for this season of Ant, Norm, Ingram, Simmons, Hayes, another OK young player, DSJ, Elleby, Brown and Watford. Those would be the only guys I'd play. Let our vet min guys sit or release them and give young G Leaguers their roster spots.

I'm not saying blow it up because I think we can get player around Dame that make this team competitive. I'm just saying if I had to blow it up I could do what I just said in a week.

Dame was injured and is coming back from that or is still injured and should go under the knife. He's going to dominate again, it's only a matter of time and then in three years he'll start to fade but still be an all star level player for a couple more seasons and then probably be a really good starter who makes all star teams because of his previous play for a couple more seasons and then he'll probably retire at 38 or 39. He's a baller, he's an Oakland PG, he's going to have staying power.

Larry got in a spat with a fan last night - per Blazer interwebs (Blazer Reddit)

The inactivity of this management has fans lashing out - even at a player who plays hard and doesn’t deserve it.

If anyone deserves heckling it’s Nurk :bored:

It's securities job to handle fans not Cronin's .....fans have been lashing out since the playoff loss to the Nuggets...actually after every playoff loss ...nothing new. The coaching staff should get between any player and the fans if this happens. Nurk wasn't our big issue last night.....our guard play was terrible

Can you expect a guy that has interim gm label, not to be aggressive in shaking up the roster?
I know Joe has said he wasn't going to make a deal for the sake of making a deal.
Wasn't it a interim gm that made the trade that allowed him to draft Dame?

Cronin has real close connections to the Pacers front office......I can see that working out in his favor with their wanting to blow it up

Cronin has to do something big to clean up this mess of a roster and have any chance at that interim tag being removed after this season. This is his chance. I don't think there is any way he can sit on his hands and do nothing. I also don't think there is any way he can just trade Nurk or RoCo (a typical Neil bunt single attempt). The guy has to take a major swing or two and seriously improve this team if he has any hope of having this job permanently. I think he's smart and I think he knows this.

Cronin has been here since the Pritchard era, he doesn’t have the excuse of needing time to get to know the roster and what it needs — he knows it better than anyone.

Going to need to add Naz to CJ in order to find a trade partner. It would need to be a really good player. Could be Simmons?

Will Joe make a move before 1/15/22?
Im thinking next week he pulls the trigger on a fairly major trade involving CJ & some.

I'm guessing CJ has to come back and play a bit first.

Could be but not necessarily. Physicals are involved with any trade. Chances are the guy we get will have past injuries.

...and ideally, they will rest Dame for those first few games CJ comes back so he can inflate the hype and Dame can get refreshed again before new help arrives!
