    that's not what happened

    they traded a 17th pick for a 12th pick, so that was not gaining a 1st, just moving up 5 slots. The other 1st is a top-10 protected from the Pels, and the Pels are currently in 4th place in the lottery. That pick very likely won't convey so just becomes a 2nd round pick

    they didn't "get rid" of Bledsoe in the trade either. Bledsoe was traded TO menhis then traded for Beverly and Rondo. Rondo they just waived. If you track thru all the subsequent trades. all they ended up with is Jarret Culver who has averaged 8 minutes

    so then, what it looks like they did is traded Vaunciunas for Adams, moving up 5 slots in the draft, and a 2nd round pick, and a scrub
