That's an ambitous trade! I'd love to have Townes and Levert gives us some length

Fischer said we're gonna see some more minor deals before the guarantee date tomorrow similar to the deals that have been done so far this past week. Thinks it's gonna set up teams to make potentially larger moves in a few weeks.

Said there's gonna be a sweepstakes for Jerami Grant. Thinks Roco and Nurk could incite a bidding war because very few guys are going to available outside of these three.

With Suggs, Cole Anthony and Fultz I just don't see how why they would need to spend any of that money on Ant but GMs do weird shit all of the time.

You want to trade Ant/+ to OKC for a different 22 year old who can't shoot and is an undersized SG or SF (listed as a SF on ESPN)? What kind of numbers do you think Ant would put up if he was on OKC playing the same 32.6 mpg that Dort gets?

Dort will be a perennial All-Defensive candidate.

They’re polar opposites. Dort can defend the 1-2-3.

Ant would be a 20ppg scorer in Oklahoma

If we made that trade everyone on here would be screaming a year from now in disbelief that we traded a young PG who is scoring 20+ for a guy who's 6'3", can't shoot and can't guard a SF or a decent sized SG. I agree that we need toughness and defense but not at the expense of Ant for someone like Dort.

The more I think about it, the worse the idea of trading Ant sounds. He is Dame insurance in case this team goes in a full rebuild. He’s not taking up a starting spot aka not a reason for this teams imbalance. Trading him solves nothing if Powell/CJ are still here. I just can’t see it happening unless Cronin says fuck it and goes all in for the next year or two and trades him and Nas. Considering where we are in the standings currently and Dames injury, that seems shortsighted/unlikely.

I like Ant as our super sub. If we really commit to him I think he could be a 6th man of the year type.

And as @Scalma said, a potential starter if we moved on from Dame and wanted to go young.

We need to move CJ and possibly Powell though for it to make sense. I don't want us throwing money at another guard otherwise. Someone has to be voted off the island.

What if Ant wants to start? He will be relegated to the bench if he re-ups in Portland. He is brutally inconsistent and that is not acceptable for 15m a year.

Unfortunately for Ant - we can match whatever he is offered. The good news is he is young. If he is 6th man next year it might be hard for us to continue to have him be a sub. If he was a 30mpg sub for us, maybe he doesn't care next year.

Yeah, I think he has shown what he's capable of and it's impressive on offense. He also seems to be able to find his spots where he can really impact the game when he has more PT. The fact is that we don't know how much another team might throw at him and that's scary.

If I were Cronin (if I knew that Dame is going to be out for most of the season) then I would honestly trade Ant, Norm and CJ. I think all three would bring back really good value and I don't think any of them are an ideal fit next to Dame nor are any of them going to be paid like a guy should who is backing up a supermax player. You would likely get a quality guard back in one of those deals but even if you didn't, I'd be cool with DSJ and Tony or Ben starting in our back court for the rest of the season, if Dame is going to be out.
