This is where we will see if Drury can be an elite GM. This stupidity of not playing Barron by Gallant is beyond pathetic. Said it before, seems like Gallant has a problem with Barron being a highly educated college boy. It was old from the first game of the season. Hunt and McKegg flat out suck compared to Barron. Barron from the pre-season was by far our best faceoff guy and he showed it again last night. So either Drury better get through to that thickhead Gallant to play this guy or he needs to get rid of Hunt and McKegg so he has no choice but to play him. Gorton never stupid proofed Quinn with certain players and it led to the team being much worse in the win column.
I agree, Barron should be in for sure. He can be the FO guy we need. Look to add a top 6 forward, and a LD upgrade, and this team could actually be a contender this season. They have performed better than I thought they would after missing on a few needs in the offseason I thought. But they'll be at a crossroads some point soon. They have beaten just about all the bad teams, but have been whatever against the good teams. So I am not sure they are a real contender yet. If Barron can fill the 4th line C FO winning need, and we can add the couple of pieces I called out above, this could be a fun season for us come May and hopefully June.
Even better, if they get rid of Chytil, get another center for Lafreniere, they can put Barron with Strome and Panarin and let him take the draws so Strome doesn't get ass raped as usual.
