Yeah, from the definitions I was able to find it would be hard to consider ABM a bigot.

Trans UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas is CRUSHED twice in Ivy League women's swim meet by Yale competitor Iszac Henig, who is transitioning from female to male
    • Yale swimmer, Iszac Henig, easily beat out his opponents in the women's 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 25.67 seconds
    • Henig, who is transitioning from female to male, also finished first in the earlier 50-yard freestyle
    • After the race, the 20-year-old who has had his breasts removed, pulled down the top of his swimsuit
    • UPenn's swim meet on Saturday against Dartmouth and Yale is the Penn team's first since October when Lia Thomas blew away the competition
    • She shattered two national women's records last month at the Zippy International in Akron, Ohio
    • Such was her dominance in the 1,650-yard freestyle that second placed swimmer Anna Kalandadze, a UPenn teammate, finished 38 seconds behind her
    • On Saturday, she won her first race of four - the 200-yard freestyle - finishing in 1.48.73, with her closest competitor just two seconds behind her
Transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas was crushed twice in a women's swim meet by another transgender competitor who is transitioning from female to male - first in the 100-yard freestyle, where she placed fifth, and then again in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Male transgender Yale swimmer Iszac Henig - who defeated transgender Penn swimmer Lia Thomas in Saturday meet - came out to teammates last year and made the decision NOT to take testosterone because he wanted to remain on the women's team
    • Henig, a California native, stunned parents at the meet as the Yale swimmer easily beat out his opponents in the women's 100-yard freestyle
    • His opponents included Lia Thomas, a transgender woman who swims for the University of Pennsylvania
    • Henig came just short of his collegiate bests, having previously done the 50 in 22.59 and the 100 in 48.90
    • Henig still competes on the Ivy League school's women's team after coming out to coaches and teammates in April 2021
    • He told the New York Times in July that he was not taking hormones because he still wanted to compete

Easy to be nice to people like you. Straight, male, and Christian, check? The rest of us, not so nice.

Some years ago, I attended an all day seminar in San Francisco. It was held in a downtown office tower. On the ground floor is a restaurant, Kin Khao, which, although small and by San Francisco standards moderately priced, won a coveted Michelin star and regularly appeared on list of Bay Area Top 100 restaurants. I made a lunch reservation, adding in "notes" that I would have only an hour for lunch. I read the menu on line and also reviews.

When I arrived, I told server I already knew what I wanted to order and repeated I was on time crunch. He seated me, brought glass of water, and vanished. Others who had been at seminar, many of whom had no reservation, had orders taken and food arrived while I waited. I noticed they were also asked if they wanted regular or sparkling water while I had not been. I tried saying "excuse me" when server passed but he took no notice. I finally got up out of my seat and walked right up to him to say I needed to order. I ordered and waited. Others got checks and left and I was still waiting. Finally they brought my food. It had obviously been plated some time ago and left to get cold, as food was completely cold and congealed. I ate about two bites, paid, returned to seminar late, hungry and furious. I posted scathing review on Yelp but restaurant kept Michelin star and listing on Top 100.

Any woman who ever dined or lunched solo recognizes this, "single lady phenomenon". Too many restaurants and other establishments consider solo women least important customers. Couples, groups, families with children, solo men are all served while we wait. It's not just me. One of my pre-pandemic go to places was Bluestem Brasserie. Co-owner used to travel extensively and experience single lady phenomenon so instructs her staff to pay special attention to solo women.

Why is this relevant? Because a poster who has not only on several occasions posted personal insults, he treats my community as at best a freak show for his amusement, considers random rapist ejaculate more important than a woman's life, and endorsed history only teaching good white people and happy people of color. Yet other posters keep saying he's such a nice guy. No doubt is, to them. Just like Kin Khao was great, to others. To me it sucked.

As I said, easy to be nice to people like you. Easy for restaurant to provide good service to those they consider important, which doesn't include single ladies.

Not trying to start a fight. But getting irked over hearing what a great restaurant experience it was, for others.

I have never heard of the single lady phenomenon before. Interesting.

We all have to learn how to treat each other better.

Did I detect a reference to me in there and is that aimed at getting me to turn away from my friend? Should I as easily turn away from you? No, I'm not that way.

I protest. Sure he's a supersized asshole, but the biggest? No, I claim that honor.
