AT&T and Verizon are launching 5G tomorrow and airlines are warning it could cause disruptions as they might have to delay flights in fear the new network could interfere with airplane instruments that measure altitude and impact safety. They make it sound like planes are going to be falling out of the sky or at least possibly crashing because of inaccurate altitude measurements. Has a Y2k feel to it. Seems a bit catastrophizing, but better safe than sorry.
It's very weird that they can't just figure this out scientifically instead of having a pissing contest. barfo

Theyve been doing fine with all the people that are vaccinated so I don't know why they are worried now....
We never turn our phones off on the team plane. Use them all the time. Airlines that say it messes with the plane I believe are full of shit.
I switched to T-Mobile 5G for our internet. Works great and it’s only costing us $40 a month since we have our phones with them. I hope we don’t kill anyone.
T-mobile 5G. So crazy If I'm on 4g it's like the internet isn't working. And in airports, data networks are already horrible.
I assume you’re referring to the super-fast millimeter wave 5G that’s only available in very limited areas, Lanny? Currently, there are 3 different flavors of “5G”, with most being the lower speed low band “5G”: https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/5g...us-dont-fall-for-the-carrier-marketing-fluff/
You are not asking for Bill Gates. Bill told me so. You are asking for me, dammit. Now, my secret is out.
