As a customer, you'd have to wear a mask while sipping on a latte?

I refuse to drive through Sherwood, let alone have real estate there.

We're two years in. Biden could have made sure enough vaccine for the entire world was manufactured. For $56 billion we could have enough vaccine for the whole world to get 2 doses in a year. Another 6 months and everybody could have a booster, which would eliminate the stress on hospitals worldwide.

    https://www.citizen.org/article/how-to-make-enough-vaccine-for-the-world-in-one-year/

We could be the shining light for the world. We could be building almost limitless worldwide good will toward the US, which could last a generation. We're choosing not to, because we keep voting in leaders who are owned by corporate interests.

Post-COVID ‘brain fog’ could be result of virus changing patients’ spinal fluid

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Cases of “brain fog” among COVID patients are becoming more and more common, even among people recovering from mild infections. Now, new research is finally providing some potential answers to why people have difficulty concentrating, thinking clearly, and completing easy daily tasks after battling COVID. A team from the University of California-San Francisco say brain fog may result from how the virus alters a person’s spinal fluid — just like other diseases which attack the brain.

Their study finds certain patients who develop cognitive symptoms following a mild case of COVID-19 display abnormalities in their cerebrospinal fluid, similar to the kinds which appear in patients with diseases like Alzheimer’s. While this is only a start, study authors are optimistic this work is an important first step toward understanding what exactly SARS-CoV-2 can do to the human brain.

“They manifest as problems remembering recent events, coming up with names or words, staying focused, and issues with holding onto and manipulating information, as well as slowed processing speed,” explains senior study author Joanna Hellmuth, MD, MHS, of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, in a university release.

Post-COVID brain fog is likely much more common than most people realize. One recently released study focusing on a post-COVID clinic in New York found that a staggering 67 percent of 156 recovered COVID-19 patients experienced some form of brain fog.

I listened to this episode of Startalk a couple days ago, and Dr. Christakis made a point I wasn't aware of. He said (and I'm paraphrasing) children who haven't had the covid vaccine have a 30% higher risk of death than children who have.

It's a great listen if you have time...

Nicholas A. Christakis, MD, PhD, MPH, is a sociologist and physician who conducts research in the areas of social networks and biosocial science

Unfortunately, to normal Americans, Dr. Christakis’s curriculum vitae is impressive and convincing. To the rest of America he graduated from Hogwarts……..just sayin’…….

What they forgot to mention was that 67 percent were also chronic pot smokers!

I know you don't touch the stuff, and I used to touch the stuff, but there IS a case for it in these times.

OK, well, I do enjoy a craft beer (see my Beer thread), but, the green is well in my past. I'll imbibe in the green font ever so often, though.
