You know this crazy sucka$$ season could all come together and we could do some damage in the PO.

does the draft truly turn around a team? Boy, 50+ years as a Blazer fanatic and I can’t point to many of Portland’s first round selections that turned the franchise around! But the players we have passed over during the drafts is hilarious. I think too much emphasis is placed upon a draft. Rather, trade CJ, Nurk, RoCo, Powell, Nance and go after some players that might be compliments to Dame, Ant, Naz and the like. Go after a Simmons or an Ayton or maybe KAT. You see, OLSHEY never was able to figure out the right mix of players. Focus upon finding a GM that can be a success.

If no major moves are made it should paint a clear picture - NOBODY wanted our guys.

in my opinión, if I were a GM and my team was a couple players away, I’d be looking to grab McLemore. The guy is your “Vinnie Johnson” off the bench. The “microwave” that can add points within three minutes. I’d be after Simons as my guard of the future and Naz as my Dennis Rodman rebound machine. I would have little desire for CJ, RoCo or Nurkic UNLESS, RoCo or Nurk simply become a rental for a deep playoff run and then don’t re-sign them. Nurkic would be great in Golden State. RoCo would be great for Utah or the Clippers. RoCo may help the Bucks. Powell would help Denver, Lakers, Clippers as well as Hornets, Atlanta and the Knicks out East.

I don’t want to worry about tanking for a draft pick…instead, I would be focused upon unloading CJ and Powell and also getting “something” for RoCo and Nurkic. And I would be worried about signing Simons as Neil Olshey blew it for not extending him!

The OP is quite correct. The Blazers could really do some damage in the Post Office - they're very large humans.

Tanking is foolish for at least two reasons: you have no guarantee of getting any single player you have your eye on, and almost any player can end up being a bust in the NBA anyway.

yeah only way I’d be down is if there was a LeBron/Luka generational talent. And even then we wouldn’t suck enough to have a real shot at landing them.

I think it’s a matter of how much folks are getting paid to suck ass or suck a$$ as the case may be.

So I guess for our team it's just purgatory. Cool.

Go team. First round exit woooo! Gotta get lucky on that trade. Weeeee.

It's always fun to be a team that has to rely on two things: drafting and trades and supposed to just be okay that were "too good" for one of them and for the last decade had a shitty person doing the other.

The only hope is that Cronin isn't fucking stupid.

But I guess fuck the draft pick, it's only half of what could help us. But nah, purgatory ftw. Lol.

It's whatever at this point. I'll still cheer.

I don’t mind swear words but I do think it should be clear whether you’re using them as an adjective or a verb.
