That reminds me that I just read the Jerami Grant doesn't want to go to LA cuz he would be the third option.

I wonder if Jerami Grant would be the most happy on the Washington Generals? Losses don't matter to him, he could handle the ball every play, and nobody really cares about turnovers or anything he does either.

I wonder how true that stuff is. He’s never gonna be a first or second option on a good team, so he may as well just stay in Detroit if that’s all he’s worried about. But I also read he gave management a list of teams he’d play for.

I think Collins would be a great addition. I just have a hard time seeing the Hawks having interest in package Portland could put together. Unless maybe that package included Simons but I have a hard time seeing a Trae/Ant back court being that desirable (same for a Trae/CJ duo). Maybe Powell would be more attractive to them?

Olshey obligating Portland's 1st round picks till 2028 is a giant monkey-wrench as a parting gift

Supposedly they're interested in upgrading their defense, hence the RoCo suggestion. But I have no real idea what they actually want for him.

I'm all for having confidence in yourself but some of these players clearly don't understand that there are only 30 teams that can have a number one option. And if you are 50th best player in the league how does that work???

Some notes from Fischer call today...

Pistons apparently had interest in Powell in FA and their coach has a connection with Norm from his Toronto days.

Also mentioned Pels having serious interest in CJ.

Portland might become buyers at the deadline.

herb jones looks terrific and i just caught some highlights.

but damn, he's already 23 as a rookie. Ant is nearly a year younger than him. Keep that in mind when evaluating Jones.

He’s already a terrific defender and shooter now and would be 25 before we have to give him an extension and the next extension after that wouldn’t happen until Dame is out of the league. I think that’s a valuable asset to have for Dame’s prime if all it cost was an expendable piece like Powell.

Yeah, I’d love Jones. Id also point out that this is also true when evaluating Ant. Im curious what his numbers are by the end of the season.

Powell to Detroit, grant to Atlanta, Collins here? Please.
Then follow up with cj to new Orleans for hart, satoransky and Hayes or Murphy

I'd prefer to follow up with a CJ trade (of course), but even if we didn't that's a more balanced team.

    Lillard/Simons
    CJ/Simons
    Little/Brown
    Grant/Nance
    Nurkic/Zeller

If we could swing CJ > NO, NO sending something to Boston, and Smart > Portland, we'd become a very tough team that equips Lillard and Simons to cook and surround them with length, toughness, and guys to do dirty work.

    Lillard/Simons
    Smart/Simons
    Little/Brown
    Grant/Nance
    Nurkic/Zeller

If we trade Powell instead of CJ I'm going to be extremely annoyed.

Prepare, one is a lot easier to trade than the other.
