Quick start for the boys in blue! 1-0 courtesy of Zibanejad. Always a good sign when he scores early.
Aaaaaannnnnnnnddddddddd former Ranger Duclair ties it at 1. wicked shot. He would be great to have back.
Rangers have 3 shots on goal nearly 15 minutes into the game...they are getting outplayed and outhustled all over the ice. These teams are NOT close.
Not too bad a period getting out of there even. The pp looked pretty good sans Fox. If they get a point out of this game I'd be happy.
Just being completely honest....if they manage a point I'd be ecstatic....! Florida is just better in every area except for goalie.
Ryan fucking Strome takes it to Marchment in a fight....NICE JOB!!! After a late hit at the end of the 2nd period by Marchment on Strome, Strome's takes his first chance to get even and lands some great shots.
This start of the third period is exactly the way the Rangers needed to come out of the intermission. the 2nd period got pretty physical in the last few minutes and Gallant responds by putting the 4th line out there to start the 3rd...the Rangers continued to play physical and it seems to have gotten the Panthers off their game. Rangers controlled play the first 4-5 minutes of the third. Hopefully the Strome fight inspires them to keep up the hard nosed play.
Holy shit Zibanejad with an INSANE pass to Kreider at the side of the net to put the Rangers up 4-2....WOW!
Panarin with an empty netter as Kreider pulls away to prevent Panarin from passing to him. Good move by Kreider. Panarin wasn't happy though.
Big win for the Rangers. Definitely a tale of two halves....Rangers did not look good for the first 30 minutes but once they started playing physically it got the Panthers off their game and the Rangers got some timely PP goals to win. That was a fun game to watch!
I said it earlier this year...Kreider's game this season is really looking a lot like John LeClair from the late 90's. Scores greasy goals down close to the net. Big body, tough to move...not a great shot but just gets to the right spot on the ice to finish.
