Dog owners likely to report better emotional health during Covid-19 pandemic, study shows http://hottopics.thenewskorner.com/2022/01/dog-owners-likely-to-report-better.html
I was working (at home) and my dogs starting barking. I got up to see what was up, looked out my front window, and saw some parked cars on the side of my street. There were a few folks huddled around what appeared to be a blanket. I walked out to check it out and quickly realized a dog had been hit. Sadly, it was deceased, The driver of the truck that hit it was pretty shook up. They had already called 9-1-1 and were waiting for them to arrive. I hung around to lend any support I could. They were holding another dog - a sibling of the one that had been hit. The owner showed up around 20 minutes later and you can only imagine that scene. I've lost a couple of dogs in my life due to being run over by a vehicle. It's a terrible thing. I lived on a farm and there were no containment fences. Learned my lesson there. Anyway, the whole thing kind of crapped out my afternoon. I love my dogs so much. I hugged them both for a long time once I came back in the house.
Show me a man who loves his dog, loves fishing and loves drinking a good ice cold beer and I'll show you a man I want to be around.
