If he moves what we acquired yesterday for someone else that is a better fit then yes i would say we were wrong. Not sure why it wasn't done in one move though. Otherwise I'm not sure you get why we are complaining. Most of us believe we could save the same amount of money and get back something better in return.
He’s the cap man and explained his move. Dont you think if he thought he could accomplished that he would have? I guess we’ll find out how right and wrong we all were soon enough. From his comments about the trade led me to believe He working his plan?
If you believe Cronin is not as big an idiot as this trade suggests; and that he's serious about "balancing" the roster; and that a big part of that balance is financial...then trading CJ is an absolute must because having Dame-CJ-Simons all on the team, as guards, and paying the 3 of them 80M/year or more is the worst kind of imbalance. that's pretty obvious. Which means it will be obvious to the rest of the league. Which means CJ's trade value, whatever it is, will never be higher than it is today.
Way more angrier if no next move. If the next trade makes this trade more palatable from a reasoning standpoint, then there you go. But no move, well that's inexcusable.
if there is a next move, in order to make yesterday's trade more palatable, the next trade would need to depend on yesterday's trade. Just moving CJ, for instance, for Hart-Sato-Hayes doesn't have any bearing on yesterday's trade, especially if the Blazers have to waive players to complete the deal
There are a few ways that you can use the last trade in a new one. I touched on this earlier in the thread, but this would be my guess. Portland Out: Bledsoe, CJ, Snell (roster filler) Portland In: Grant, Hart, Sato Detroit Out: Grant Detroit In: Bledsoe (expiring), Hayes, NOP 1st rd pick New Orleans Out: Hart, Hayes, Sato, 1st rd pick New Orleans In: McCollum, Snell (roster filler) That goes a long way in balancing the roster and saving money. Might not be quite enough to snag Grant. Maybe a little more is added in a package somewhere from Nance or Nurk. However, with the way Hayes has been playing, and his timeline matching Detroit's pretty well, I could see a 1st rd pick, Hayes, and cap space being intriguing. Certainly better than THT and the Lakers 2027 1st rd pick.
He didn't do some cap magic. Every person in here could have done this and i think if anyone suggested that trade he would be ridiculed to be honest. This was a very basic trade and I don t think Clippers took more than 3 seconds to accept it.
I will say it again while the trade on paper looks really bad wait and see if there is more and how it turns out between now and end of draft THEN Judge Maybe Cronin is playing chess while NeO was playing checkers but we shall see -- all i was preaching yesterday BUT i will say this i let emotions like everyone else cloud the way i commented and I think alot of BS was said yesterday from ALL sides -- all i will say now let's wait and see how this plays out ...... tick tock
I don't regret showing my emotions. The trade is fucked up as a stand alone. Lol. Couple that with the Olshey hangover and lack of trust for this organization to do the right thing and belief they WILL do the right thing.... Well, you know.
can't aggregate Bledsoe in any trade prior to the deadline. Has to be him being traded alone Bledsoe's salary isn't enough to get Grant. Because New Orleans is well under the tax, there could be a Bledsoe for Hart trade, but there is no incentive for them to do that
