This doesn't make logical sense about dame being traded before next year (which is an awful, awful take and flat out wrong. No rational person would think that lol). We got Bledsoe, Johnson, and the other dude who fucking sucks (how that happens for two starters is beyond me). Bledsoe ain't playing with us. Johnson is 2 years from being 2 years away from being any kind of impact player - if he ever is. Why on EARTH is this the trade that would make someone go "dame is gonna be traded because we got 3 guards in a trade" like... what?! I say some downright idiotic stuff in here. I'm wrong A LOT, but... damn.
right now yes, but IF he plays well and stays healthy and he get minutes (which he will), his value could increase quite a bit, he has already shown in past years in Miami he can be a valuable player - key is his health obviously, at least he has upside back close to where he was
yeah, I was referring to their value as filler, at least for Stauskas and Hood. RHJ is a player similar to Winslow which is why I mentioned him here's something interesting when talking about players with 'filler' value: Stauskas was used as filler in the trade for Hood; Hood was used as filler in the trade for Powell; Powell was traded when Winslow was used as filler. Thank god Stauskas is out of the league or we might see a Winslow for Stauskas trade complete the circle
I think we have seen over the last 3-4 years, that role players without perimeter shooting talent have a cap on their value. It is why Derrick Jones has been essentially benched by 3 straight teams. And RHJ is out of the league at 27; and Evan Turner retired at 31. Winslow can do some things well, but he has a serious flaw in today's NBA. I'd say his 4M contract is probably about right as far as his value and might be a bit high
Fuck that bust Winslow and fuck Bledhoe and fuck that 2nd round pick, how do you explain that shit to Dame ?
They probably already explained it to him, or this organization is just dumb. Soooo. Like I'm mad at the trade too, but to take it out on the players that were traded here? Hmm.
I think Dame knew of the trade before it was made, likely no explaining needed, who knows WTF will happen? maybe more moves, maybe Dame's gone too, we will see
If Dame was actually playing this year it would be a much more difficult conversation. By the time he gets back, RoCo would have been gone regardless. I am not sure getting a 1st round (Non-lottery) pick would have made a difference to Dame. But yeah they need to make more moves before next season.
Blazers were high on Keon like many others, he’s young and who knows what will happen but I don’t think it’s that far of a stretch to think he might turn out to be the best player in the trade eventually.
Yep. I remember the Pau for Kwame/Marc deal. Marc was considered filler but turned out to be a franchise player and got them to the WCF.
We'll see what Joe does up to deadline he might not do nothing. But I think he's looking towards next year not the remainder of this season. So out all those 3 players he probably was highlights Keon for the future and other 2 was to help the salaries to match. More likely both will be down the road next year.
nbadraftroom: “Johnson will need some time to refine his ball-handling, shooting and play-making skills but his elite athleticism and rock solid frame give him a nice NBA ceiling. At this point he drives the ball mostly to the right but he does so effectively and with a lot of success. He’s got great burst into the lane and explodes above the rim. In some ways he plays like a young Ron Artest, being physical in the paint, rebounding the heck out the ball and also initiating the offense as a point forward. Another player Johnson reminds me of is Jaylen Brown, with his physical driving style and high end athleticism. It’s too early to say if he’ll be as good as those two players but the tools are there.”
