The next move. Cj, our tanking pick that could get up to too five to seven, and whatever else for an all star in a bigger position. 3-4.
Pay aNd waive, bledsoe to resign Simons.

Shop nurk and nance for better cap friendly contracts that also fits Billups system better.

One thing that might also happen besides what others have said about sending over filler players is buyouts. We might buyout Bledsoe for instance or if the Pelicans trade looks like a lot of the proposed trades I've seen (and some I've just made up) Satoransky might be an ideal player for a buyout.

Yeah, CJ is gone with the Blazers giving Simons his spot next season.

They will try to move Bledsoe before the deadline and buy him out if they can't. If they can't trade him and buy him out, it may be either to create a spot for incoming players via a CJ trade or to get someone else off the buyout market.

The Blazers will get their pick this year. How low can they go?

The Blazers have multiple opportunities to balance the roster with the above moves.

We would like to think we are going to get a starter for CJ like Grant, Sabonis, or Wood, but that probably won't happen. We will get some more defensive minded role players to appease Billups needs as coach.

The Blazers may wait to trade CJ till the draft, but they would probably get more now.

They inferred they won’t buy him out, and it wouldn’t make sense anyway. That’s a 19M contract (that isn’t fully guaranteed) to play with during the draft/before FA. That’s too valuable to just buy out.

My trades of CJ to Pelicans with a third team (Indiana or Houston) are two out and two in.

It's only a 3.9 million dollar contract to play with at the draft unless you fully guarantee it.

a guy who possibly made the worst trade in franchise history doesn't deserve any credibility or benefit of doubt.

Imagine believing, without irony, that he doesn’t know more than everyone on a message board. Get real.

how is this different from our resident Stotts apologists claiming we should just blindly trust him because he's the coach and we're just fans on a message board?

Because knowing how many roster spots there are and other cap stuff isn’t subjective?

and his one trade made it seem like he thought the deadline was Feb 4 instead of Feb 10. Skepticism is warranted.

Skepticism that he didn’t realize how many players are allowed on a squad?

when you start justifying this dumbass norm/roco trade as rational, when 99.99999% of the public/fans/media are criticizing it, do you want me to label you as anything other than an apologist?

that isn't an issue. Just about every trade I can imagine has the Blazers sending out more salary than they take back. Portland can simply waive Bledsoe and Snell. Or add Snell to CJ's trade

better yet is to work a buyout with Bledsoe. Maybe take a million or more off of his cap-impact

    ***************************************************

and I just had a thought: IIRC the rules correctly, If Bledsoe is waived and a team signs him afterward, what he is signed for (or at the minimum 50% of what he is signed for) is deducted from Portland's cap and salary pay-out from Portland

which would make me think if Bledsoe is signed next season, whatever he is signed for reduces that 3.9M guarantee

can someone verify that or is it an artifact of the previous CBA?

Interestingly, the majority of the ones not criticizing it are the ones that have the most experience in the actual industry. But YouTube user JakeBalls69 didn’t like it so that’s that.

what is your problem? no one ever attacks you personally, but you always stoop to that level and talk down to them as if you're such a genius whenever anyone disagrees with you. i don't know why more people don't call you out on your bullshit.

there's a certain level of decorum we follow on this forum, feel free to adopt it, even when you don't agree with what people say.
