Yes. This place isn't just about blazer talk. Some of us have built friendships with these people over decades of posting together. I can just as easily post most of my stuff in the OT section.
Simons is 22 and Nassir Little is 21. If we get a good complement to those two players in the next draft, I don't think it's shitty long term potential. Short term, I think we saw with the right combination of players, the Blazers could play good defense and win their fair share of games on the road. Nurkic was a big part of that. If he stays or we get as good of a replacement, the team should be better next year than they were to start this season.
I have been a Blazer since before Walton. Back to when Wicks and Petrie were leaders of the team. but I absolutely hated the Olshey era. Year after year of his dumbass ego-centic decisions keeping the Blazers mired in futile mediocrity slowly eroded my enthusiasm. Till the point I don't watch some of this games. The trade that Cronin made was another nail in the coffin yeah, I'm losing interest but it has been a steady decline for years
Lol. I knew someone was going to make it a "you're a bad fan if..." Nah, people can lose interest and be a fan. That's not up for debate either.
The definition of fanatic directly contradicts the idea of lost interest. That’s not up for debate either.
I hear this a lot... Build around Simons and Little. I think that is a mistake. They are not "build around " talent. That type of talent shows itself by season 3. (Trae, JA, Tatum, Garland, Edwards) They are good, solid players who will have decent careers, but they are not cornerstones IMO. Portland fans waaaaay overvalue their players.
Sadly, for me, I already gave a few years ago. Running out the same also rams every year is discouraging for THIS fan. With my medical history, it just hit me. I root for the team, and want them to win on a larger level, but wins and or losses during the season mean shit to me, knowing at the end of the season, it doesn’t matter
I've been losing more and more interest in the regular season in the last couple of years. This season, I basically scoreboard watch and look at the standings. It feels like no matter what game you watch, it just feels like a layup and 3-point contest. The playoffs are more redeemable so I'll continue paying attention to that. As for our beloved Blazers, it is what it is. I conceded that there has been a couple of parallels between us and the Baltimore Ravens this year (yes, I'm a Ravens fan so that's why I made the comparison lol).
Dude, we aren't saying they are going to lead us to a title. It is a start. Banchero or Jabari Smith would be the types to potentially start the rebuild. The hope would be we suck again next year and get another top 5 pick. Banchero, top 5 pick, Simons, Little starts looking like a decent squad to build off of. If you don't like them, move them too. I don't give a shit. Start the process. Get as many high lotto picks as you can. Do what OKC are doing.
Didn't you know you can watch the 77 title on Youtube nowadays? Stop being selfish wanting to watch a title now. My goodness.
Not at all. We gave away players for nothing. Many of us would have been happy if we got future assets.
The only thing I'm really mad at right now is. why the hell is Tony Snell playing? The problem is, he can shoot (lately) and Elleby and Winslow can't. So I expect Winslow will replace Elleby instead of Snell.
I had totally lost interest when Dame ad CJ were both playing, awful boring ISO ball and Dame was hurt. Frankly I am behind a TOTAL blowup including Dame, like to watch the young guys play more "team ball", time to move on
