Hayle Nah. Been a fan for forty years and was 10 and living in Portland when we won it all and Blazer Mania and Rip City were born. I'll never lose interest or not be a Rip City fan. What kind of blasphemy is this
Of course. These aren't the real Blazers. These are people filling laundry until next season. The idea that CJ Elleby is even on an NBA roster, much less a starter, is an insult to anyone with an interest in professional basketball.
Same, my interest in the NBA outside of the Blazers has been on the decline for 4-5 years now. Probably really starting with KD joining the Warriors and the shift to games becoming defenseless open gym 3 point shooting contests. My Blazer interest is the lowest its been since probably 2005-06. Mostly due to the sense that the organization truly is now fundamentally broken and needs to be sold and basically rebuilt from the ground up. Thus it's pretty hard to gain any sense of even slight optimism for the future. Difficult to enjoy the hobby when my frustration runs that deep.
I became a Blazer fan the year they came into being. Now - I'm done. All I have left is the rage at the people who took it away from me.
It would for me. 100%. I wish so much that we could all feel better about this teams direction. I miss Paul Allen being our owner. It was an emotional day for many of us when he passed. Time to turn the page and get a new ownership group.
I lost interest about 4 years ago when it was blatantly obvious that the Dame + CJ experiment had proven a complete failure, and now it's 4 years later and we're still doing the same thing.
People have a hard time understanding losing interest does not mean not being a fan. Just because the word is fanatic does not mean we have to BE a fanatic. We can go in waves and not prescribe literally to the definition of term. Being a fan is a spectrum. Ever heard of casual fan? They are fans too, just more passive. Spectrum. You can have a waning interest and still care about the team because the people running it are substandard at their jobs. It's really not a hard concept to understand and frankly if you think fan only means one speed and that's blind following and always positive, and not being hard on the team, that's a you problem. I'm still just a big of a "fan" but I lose interest and you need to be okay with the fact people can lose interest. And if youre not, that's your problem. I'm not changing my stance, so don't try. Learn that being a fan can be different. That's your homework. Learn.
Yes because the management main goal is not winning and helping Dame. They keep looking for scrubs to fill the roster to just save them money. Jody is cheap not like Paul Allen.
thats right.....the anticipation of change one way or the other, with dreams of back to back to back and a new owner.
That's an interesting question. In that respect the fact that I have gone from indifference back to seething anger could be seen as a possitive sign! On some level I must still care.
