WTF is the deal with Ben Simmons? Can we please do CJ and Nance? It doesn't look like Philly is getting anyone to bite.

The deal is there is no deal. Blazers won't be getting him.

Morey ain't budging on this one. It's a risky position: Is Embiid enough to get to the finals? I really don't know. He is playing lights out that's for sure. But, as we know, 7 game series are a whole nuther ball o wax.
There is no question, however, any mid/top tier player (but not talking superstars, of course) is better than nothing to help the team. Certainly CJ would help the team. At this point Simmons can't really suit up for them; I think Embiid loathes him at this point TBH. It's just a great big mess if you ask me. Should the Sixers not make a deal and they have an early-mid exit in the playoffs it's all on Morey if you ask me. Fire his ass. Injury-prone Embiid could go down for an extended period so I would argue strike while Embiid is hot and just make a deal already. Is there a GM with a bigger ego than Morey? Not one without rings...

So it appears if CJ is traded it will be to NO, NYK, or ATL

Who can give the best deal? Would any include a 1st rnd pick?

    PELICANS

The Pelicans are of course not offering Zion. They also don't want trade Ingram as they want to see a Zion, Ingram, CJ trio. They also are not amenable to trading Herb Jones, who is their Nassir Little.

How bad they want CJ might push them to trading Jones.

They would be susceptive to moving anyone else on the roster the Blazers might desire. They are of course open to trading Hayes who has legal troubles. So, the pool is:

    Herb Jones(Maybe but doubtful)
    Jonas Valanciunas
    Josh Hart
    Nickeil Alexander Walker
    Jaxon Hayes
    Willie Hernangomez
    Tomas Satoransky
    Kira Lewis Jr
    Garrett Temple
    Zylan Cheatum
    Trey Murphy III

    KNICKS

The Knicks are likely have an open cupboard.

    Julius Randle
    Obi Topping
    Evan Fournier
    RJ Barrett
    Cam Reddish
    Kemba Walker
Immanuel Quickly (might be the player the Knicks don't want to include)
    Mitchell Robinson
    Nerlens Noel
    Taj Gibson
    Derrick Rose

    HAWKS

It's unclear if the Hawks are willing to trade John Collins for CJ. They might also be resistant to trading away Hunter.

    John Collins (Maybe)
    DeAndre Hunter (Maybe)
    Bogdan Bogdanovic
    Kevin Huerter
    Danilo Galinari
    Onyeka Okongwu
    Clint Capella
    Wes Iwundu
    Lou Williams

    (referring to a Knicks package)

Much more likely to get a pick(s) from New Orleans. In fact, from the bits I've heard, the Pels are willing to throw in more picks to be able to keep all the players they want. The problem that creates, it is would take 4-5 players to equal CJ's salary given who they want to keep. Doesn't seem realistic as Portland doesn't have the roster spots. It would have to be a 3-way, or the Blazers would have to send out a 3-1 deal for someone like a Bagley first that wouldn't require much talent going to the Kings, then have room to take back who the Pels are trying to unload albeit with more picks. (possibly 3)

Isn't CJ's girlfriend from NY ? I bet the Blazers will do a deal with the Knicks and send him to a place he wants to go. Same with Powell

CJ would be GREAT in New York. Media savvy, well spoken, and will put up a bunch of points.

So they want to keep Valanciunas? Valanciunas and Hart work by themselves if they want to throw in lots of picks.

    CJ to Pels for 1st/Hayes/Hart/Expiring

Nurk/Filler/2nd rounder to ATL for Collins

    Dame/1st
    Ant/Hart
    Little/Keon
    Collins/Nance
    Hayes/1st

    More balanced but less talented?

I doubt that's even a Playoffs Team. And if they somehow make the Playoffs, they'd get knocked out in the 1st round

Why on EARTH would Atlanta give up Collins for CJ?

The answer is: obviously they wouldn't.

I agree. I'd be happy for him and them. They always suck no matter what, so they couldn't really blame him, and he'd get to play in the Garden.

(Trade works without Temple, and that's better for us, so just mentally drop him if you like.)
The thing is, taking on Hayes with his legal troubles after the Chauncey firestorm? But so long as we get Hart, I'm okay with NO.
PLAYERS WE WILL ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOT GET FROM NEW ORLEANS SO JUST GIVE UP HOPING:
    Zion
    Ingram
    Jones
    Valanciunas

Atlanta; I do not believe they will trade Collins. If they want CJ they are in win now mode.

New York; If you don't like Randle (and I don't), they have nothing to offer us.

Pelicans: Best choice. Don't forget they have quite a few draft picks and those Laker picks are looking better now than earlier. I think we need to involve Houston as third team and get Christian Wood. Their owner is notoriously stingy and I think he wants to tank for multiple years. I think he will deal for dollar savings and very young assets.

Yeah, not going to happen unless they immediately move him. Kid can play though.
