Imagine that. Vitamin D of all things. The thing widely known to inhibit viral infections for like 100 years now. Next I suppose they’re gonna tell me Vitamin C and Zinc could help with covid too. Crazy fuckers.

Nobody ever denied any of that helped. There was just no evidence that it helped enough. Certainly not as much as the vaccines and masking.

Yes. Science changes as circumstances change. It's a feature.

Just saw Oregon's case numbers are DOWN 35% from last week I see no links on here about that. Just the doomsday ones. Kinda like the Portland thread.

It actually doesn’t change. People just change the way it’s interpreted because they want to remain an authority while not actually knowing dick. When they are wrong it’s because “the science changed” and when they are right they are god. Sort of a win-win.

That's why it's science, not religion.

No, science actually points to different causes and solutions based on what evidence is available.

This is why I was confident in saying the mask mandates wouldn't last forever. The state didn't just decide it wanted less control. No, we're getting to a point that masks are less effective due to increased immunity among the population, which will result in lower hospitalization rates.

It was never about power or control. That was never a logical argument.

All we had to do to predict this was look at the pattern of Omicron in areas hit first. Follows the same pattern. Same with Delta.

I just checked, deaths are up. Didn't you say that was a better indicator or what we should focus on versus case numbers?

so many answers to be had here.

    “your mother?”

but really… no clue. I mean, I was on a plane, so there are lots of germs, but airplane air is considered some of the cleanest air. Airports are dirty. I ate at a couple restaurants. I mean, I wear my mask more than most. I was bound to catch it, and that’s just the reality. I’m immunocompromised so hoping shit is okay.

we shall see. wife tested negative with home test but she’s feeling somewhat down. If the kids have it, it’s very light.

Well, considering they expect just about everyone to get COVID.....

And I'd rather be a "COVID survivor" than a "COVID non-survivor"....
