Maybe we'll get the rest of the New Orleans pick that is owed to Charlotte if the Pels make the playoffs

I was reading somewhere that you can't make a trade AFTER the deadline.

We're gonna give out large FA contracts for Nurk/Ant/Dame this summer, and work around the margins with our lottery pick (hopefully picks).

I don't have much confidence that this rebuild will last only one season, especially when we made our direct competitors that much better.

And here I was thinking all this time we’d get Simmons or Siakam for CJ.

Again, it was a bit of a random account. That said, if a trade were to happen it would very likely not be Plumlee, at least heading to us. It can be argued that Joe doesn't get sufficient value in value in these trades, but it can't be argued that he isn't valuing clearing the books and maximizing space going into next year. Plumlee on the books for $8+ million virtually kills that. You could simply just let Nurk expire and renounce his rights. I would guess that the plan is either to keep Nurk around and re-sign him, or offload him for an equal expiring contract. Anything less than that, and the Blazers would need to be significantly incentivized.

Not for CJ, they already have enough guards. Does that make since?

We are in for a long term rebuild.

The only question is if Dame is gone in a number of months, or will he be around long term similar to Kobe post Achillies.

Why should we get rid of Nurk? He's just entering his prime and there's plenty of evidence to suggest he will be much better without CJ.

If we trade Nurk, there's zero hope for this team. With him, we still have one with a chance to do better.

    PG - Dame
    SG - Simons
    SF - Little
    PF - ?
    C - Nurk

There's a lot of good still left. Keep Nurk. I don't want to see him moved for spare parts.

OK -- 1st deal becomes solid IF they can flip Bledsoe
This deal goes from a C plus / B minus deal to a Solid B / B plus - IF they can flip the assets and NO 1st comes to Portland this year

Problem is this -- there is a lot of IF's and it is a pretty big gamble on the Blazers part hoping this all plays out like they hope.

I will give it to Cronin or whoever is making these calls that they are willing to gamble BUT for us fans it's like they threw tightrope over lava and if all this does not work out this sets the team back not a year maybe 2 like now but 3 to 5 plus years and we will prolly lose Dame to a trade demand IF this fails.

This is a scary time to be a Blazers fan and a much as I have been down on some fans after this trade it kind of hit me why fans are so upset cause it is such a gamble and history has shown with NeO and such that this usually ends up for the worst.

Cronin is to Olshey as Biden was to Trump or Trump was to Obama... Just a bunch of executive orders, tearing up the work of his predecessor.

Correct. That's what I meant when I said winning a play-in spot. I should have just stopped at winning a play-in. I can see why you might have misunderstood what I meant.

Hart has a higher true shooting percentage than anyone on the Blazer roster and he's a taller than CJ, Ant, Lillard, and Powell. He could be a very good fit with Lillard.

I'm hearing all this complaining about too many guards Portland got back. I don't see that as the case at all.

Satoranksy and Bledsoe are salary filler that will be flipped in 2 days or bought out and renounced. They are as relevant to next season's roster as Blevins.

We don't have a backup guard for next season. NAW on a $5 million deal is fine there.

Hart can play all his minutes at SF next year.

Didi and Keon are late draft pick flyers that aren't close to playing time next season.

The team rightly doesn't care at all how the roster is balanced the rest of this season. The tank is on.
