I don't think we even really have the resources to make Detroit happy at this point... do we?

A profit is relative. The Blazers could be even more profitable in Seattle, Vegas or Nashville. What you're missing is we are a metro area of coffee shops, vintage clothing stores and back office operations. Money is made in the NBA with corporate sponsorship and suite sales.

They could move Portland out of the Northwest and still expand to Seattle. The sports world thinks of Portland as part of Seattle anyway. In fact, clearing Portland makes Seattle more valuable as an expansion franchise. It has been shown we idiots will support a team in Seattle (our rival in my mind), but Seattle won't support a team in Portland.

All of the signs point to maximizing sales dollars to allow a franchise move.

Are all of these moves basically to make the team worse now so that the team has no choice but to trade Lillard? I'm not thinking Lillard is super happy about a rebuild. Are we going to have cap room to try to find a player to team up with Lillard? I ask all of these questions with really no knowledge of the value of the players we are getting back or the cap situation. So blast away.

I wonder how much input Billups had in this process? Is Cronin allowing Dame and Billups to help craft this rebuild? I would hope so. Billups knows what he lacks in terms of talent, and what was not working with our old lineup. I'd like to think there's a method to all this recent madness and we can throw away this year, but we'll be primed stating next year... In essence, let this cake bake for 8 months and see where we're at after the draft, re-signings, and trades. Maybe I'm too optimistic.

Bleak days for blazers fans. Brutal. The team is simply not better and TBH how likely is it to land stars in FA? Unlikely. I am still hoping another shoe will drop. But my confidence in the management is truly zero.

I think these moves are made without Chauncey in mind. A new owner brings in a new GM who wants his own coach.

No one in Portland has job security. Portland doesn't even have franchise security.

and some posters were mad about the 3-guard lineup! Those are looking like the good old days!

Yes, I'm bored waiting for the 3rd team to show itself.

Let's face it: there is no 3rd team.

late to the party here for personal reasons....turn my back for a minute....

about the TPE...as I understand the league sees if the trade as a whole works, and it does. It would be Nance for the Pels TPE; CJ for the 4 Pels players; & Snell as a minimum contract can just be traded for essentially nothing. So the league office would approve the trade. After that approval, each team is allowed to shuffle the cards and stack the deck to their best benefit. For Portland it would be Nance for 3 Pels players; and CJ for Sato. Each individual component of the shuffle does not have to meet those trade differential rules. So the Blazers get the players picks and a 21M

as far as the trade....it's certainly better than Friday's trade. Not enough draft capital coming back to Portland in either trade though. And there are plenty of risks in tearing things down to bare bones and starting over while hoping to hold on to Dame

right now, Blazers have that 21M TPE and Bledsoe's hinky contract as trade bait. I don't know if any trades for either will materialize over the next 2 days. I still believe if nothing is offered for Bledsoe, he should be waived Thursday night of Friday. Don't know if he will though

TPE vs Cap Space this summer? keep the TPE unless somebody like LaVine wants to sign. It has more value in season and before next year's trade deadline than cap-space. I haven't rune the numbers but I think the Blazers can keep the TPE, sign a player for 6-10M using space, re-sign Ant and maybe Nurk, and use the room-MLE on another player. Those signees won't be stars but they could be solid players

overall....this trade isn't great, maybe not even good, but it's probably solid enough because of the options it gives the Blazers. It's been 4 days where the valuation of Blazer assets have fallen miles below where all of us had them. I think that's probably a combo of the league not valuing Blazers like we do and Cronin being over his head

I call bulls***. It's just the 3rd team is in the G-League. We're trying to figure out how to grab their bench players and how they work in the CBA.

Blazers would be even more profitable in LA or NY as a 3rd team, hell they'd be really profitable in Mexico City. I just don't see the NBA signing off on a move.

How about this, I'll bet you $100 that the Blazers will still be in Portland 3 years from now.

They'll be in Portland through the end of their lease. After that, it's 50/50. It depends on who buys them. If a Clay Bennett buys them, they're gone.

It makes sense that she's destroying the value of the team from her and the Vulcan sheer incompetence, and that ultimately leads to a sale or other action.

I know there are a lot of moving parts even if another team is NOT involved but the longer NEITHER team confirms the trade the more likely the report of a 3rd team becomes more of a reality.

The waiting is kind of torture waiting to see if more is involved.

We're getting rid of long-term contracts. That's the goal. They don't care about acquiring value or future assets. Flexibility for a new owner is the goal. Clear the decks and the future owner of the Blazers can play with his toy more. That's the only reasonable explanation for these moves.

    The lease is worthless now.

What's the buyout, $80mill? One a billion dollar purchase?

    We got a bet?
