Keeping our pick? This might be a Lottery year

?

Make the pick for the Future.....or trade it for 'now'?

  1. One last attempt

  2. Build for the future....one player won't make enough of a difference

  3. Get bad enough to where the pick makes an immediate impact

So suppose we end up with the number 6 pick what player do you think Chauncey will want to fit his team?

I watched Ivey a bit the other day, and he looks like a clone of Morant in every respect. However, how does he fit with Dame? And if he doesn't fit, then it makes sense to continue the tear-down and trade Dame, which should greatly increase the odds of landing a pick to get Ivey with.

That's the kind of thinking that gets you to settle on Martell Webster because you didn't want to take CP3 with Telfair as your resident PG.

Ivey is built for the modern NBA. If he's available, you get him.

Really liking Ivey as well. I don't see the Morant comps outside of his hair. I see Donovan Mitchell. Ivey's shot is a bit wonky but it goes in.

I know we all want forwards/bigs, but if we're keeping the picks that could be high lotto, I want BPA.

Morant is and was a PG. He had a 51% assist rate in college his sophomore year. Ivey is a scorer primarily who can also create. But his AST rate is a paltry 20% in comparison.

Ivey reminds me a bit of Colin Sexton when he was at Alabama too

I am not going to lie not familiar with the propects at this time but unless the Blazers can get into the Top 5 the move would be to package the pick with a young player we got from one of these trades or whatever to get a vet cause the draft is a gamble.

Not really. The correct comparison would be drafting CP3 and trading Telfair.

I like him too. Has a little Devin Booker in his game. Decent size at the 2. Can score in a variety of ways. Not an athletic freak by any means though

i think he can get to any spot or shot he wants, and looks like a great 1 foot leaper. i love his 8+ rebs/game from a SG spot.

    really aggressive defender too.

think he and banchero are my early favorites in this draft

IF.....Ivey were Ja 2.0, (which I don't think he quite is) do you take him, trade Dame for a massive package, and build around Ant, Nas, Hart, a couple of Lottery picks and a ton of cap space along with whatever else you can get from Dame?

If they are not able to use the cap space to get a legit #2 this summer, (which seems doubtful) does then Dame ask to be moved because now it takes ANOTHER year to put pieces around him?

Pretty much what I said last night in the "build a contender around Dame" thread. I mean I'm willing to wait to see what Sell-Low Joe is able to do with all his "tools" in the offseason, but I'm not expecting a miracle. Given the current status, it seems that getting a haul of picks and prospects for Dame would be the way to go.

Agreed. Hope Joe can pull it off, but it seems unlikely. In that event, give Dame a chance to win one somewhere else. I was thrilled for Clyde when he had the opportunity to go to Houston and got a ring. Loved it when Kersey got one with the Spurs....was hoping Porter would as well.
