This is arguing semantics. What about his drive on Durant?

If we're going to disallow a single basic crossover as a precursor to the first step, then you're going to find maybe 5 guys in the league with both the handle and speed to simply win a footrace. Hell, even Dame uses screens and a basic left-right to get past guys all the time. Was that not the premise of the discussion-- that Ant doesn't have the first step that Dame does? I wholeheartedly disagree. And the main point here--- Ant's first step is not the reason for his lack of FTs.

signing nurk to a max contract would be ideal off-season

    nothing else matters really

Glad you're a Nurk fan--the rest of us are Blazer fans, so our priorities clearly aren't aligned with yours.

This guy knows what he is talking about. Probably not relying too much on analytics to come to this conclusion.
Too bad for him that Simons is not going to Philly.

it will be hilarious when nurk walks in free agency and trail blazers become lottery team with dame lillard, just where they were before nurk got traded here and got the team in the playoffs

I hope Nurk stays, but I am pretty sure we made the 2nd round the year before we got him with Plumlee as our center.

Winning the lottery to get Smith and flipping the TPE/NOP pick for an all-star(or almost all-star). You could not have a better off-season than that.

That’s totally reasonable and Brown is one of the few longshot might be available guys I would consider trading Simons for due to his size, position, skill and age. He’s not much older than Simons and already a proven two way player. Im just scared at how much potential I see in Simons.

I still hope we can trade Dame for Ben Simmons, just to the Nets rather than the Sixers.

Failing that, I think Chicago might be a willing trading partner who might (a) give Dame a serious shot at a title, and (b) give us players that fit the new team style:

Or perhaps the Warriors fail to win this year and want one last shot with Curry, while at the same time bring Dame home:

Our resident Wiggins hater now wants to trade Dame for Wiggins and a rookie?

I'm pretty sure that the furthest we've ever made it in the Dame era was with him injured. I'm not saying that Nurk is a bad player he's just not that great. I'll be pissed if he gets a single year over 18M in his next contract and that means I expect the deal to start at around 15M in it's first year... and I don't even think that's a good deal. I think the difference between guys like Bobby Portis, RoLo, Bamba and even Khem Birch versus what Nurk does is not worth two to three times in pay. I actually think if the Pelicans pick conveys and there isn't a player there that makes sense for us or a way to package it in a trade for an established player we like, we should trade back in the draft to San Antonio at 18 and 20 where we can take Orlando Robinson or Walker Kessler at 18 and BPA at 20. We could start Robinson or Kessler next season, let Nurk walk and seriously we wouldn't miss Nurk that much.

I think because of some of his physical gifts, unique skills and the good parts of his personality we overlook way too many of the negatives about Nurk. With all of the blown gimme shots, all of the far too fancy passes for turnovers, all of the fouling, his inability to cover the perimeter and most importantly his lack of durability, Nurk really isn't an asset that I want here. I get it that he's a great high post facilitator, I get it that he is huge, I get it that he has good foot work and I understand that those things translate into tangible positive results on both ends of the court... I just don't ever feel like those results actually outweigh the negatives by much and I definitely don't think the positives outweigh the negatives enough to justify his current contract, let alone a raise on it going forward.

Wiggins' deal is shorter, he's learned how to play defense, and Kuminga could be special.

He's definitely not CJ McCollum. It's not a good comparison.
