THAT is a contender. AD is the big man that can block shots anywhere (among many other things) . He did that against the Blazers. AD has missed a lot of regular season games, but he's only missed 1 or 40 playoff games in his career. He played in every game when they won the championship. He's nearly 3 years younger than Dame and just a little more than one year older than Nurk.
In a normal S&T the team facilitating the deal with the player they have bird rights for doesn't get much but this would not be that. If a team has a RFA and informs the whole league that they'll match anything, then that's just like any other trade. Ant is ours just as much as Dame is. So we should get what is seen as equal value back in a S&T of Ant instead of a relatively small payment for facilitating.
With those players I would just keep Winslow at PF. He's doing a fantastic job of defending and being a facilitator on offense. "Hockey assists" from Simons to Winslow to player #3 are part of our offense now. yeah it doesn't make sense to pay a bench player that kind of money. But Lillards salary is going to become huge pretty soon. Wouldn't it be better to trade him?
One thing I think that we are overlooking, is that Josh Hart cannot be a fill in at point guard, like Simons or even McCollum and Powell. We're lucky this season to have had both Lillard and Simons. If we trade one of them, and the remaining guy gets injured, our season is over. For that reason I think it would be safer to keep both of them for a season and see how it works out. Josh Hart can get some minutes at Small Forward (but should be a starter at SG). It's conceivable that a lineup with Lillard and Simons and Hart could be effective at times. PG and shooting guard would be covered, and there are several guys who could play SF, Little, Hart, Elleby and Winslow. Winslow and Watford can cover PF. We really need a good backup C. Watford is OK, but rebounding falls off quite a bit when Nurkic is out and Watford plays C.
My question due to him not having NBA body right and maybe never will his durability in the league. Porzingis been major part of his career. Plus he also could turn out be Bol Bol too. To me there to many questions marks in that area to draft him.
Simons will be here next year because the blazers will match any contract for this kid. It be up to the coach who will start my next season with Dame.
This will not be popular, but I'd like to see the blazers get a big haul for dame. Start hart and simons.
I agree with both of these. What we gain on offense from trading for a PF might be lost with what Winslow provides on the defensive end. He can guard both physical PFs and stretch 4's. We still look to try to upgrade that position, but maybe if we get lucky in the draft that will be enough. I really like the ball-handling skills that both Winslow and Watford provide. It is a huge part of their improved ball movement right now. And yes I have been thinking along the same lines with Lillard and Simons. The depth is nice to have. We need to see if it can work first before we trade one of them.
1st thing is the Lakers don't have a 1st round pick to trade till 2026 2nd thing is Dame is not 4 years older than Davis, he's less than 3 years older, and by 4 months. Davis will turn 29 in 4 weeks. Lakers can't traded the 2026 pick because Pelicans could have their 2025 pick. In the summer the Lakers can trade any of their 2027 2028 2029 picks. So they could trade 2027 and 2029.
