Lol, making a Ron DeSantis appreciation thread is asking for an argument...

And I'm actually fine with that. But let's not pretend this was unexpected or undesired.

If you want to have it out regarding his stances this is the correct place to do it.

Great. No problemo. I was simply responding to Uncle Cliffy's scoldings.

DeSantis is actively pushing book banning.

There are books that should be banned. Personally, I'd like to know which ones....and why.

    Huh? No.
No there is no book that should be banned by any government agency.

Seems like with all of those concerns, we should probably put the bible on the list as well. Or is that violence and sexual abuse ok for children to read?

Sure, ban them all if we're worried about kids reading about violence.

In that case they would both be banned.

As ABM is now saying some (which?) books should be banned, I guess his love for DeathSantis makes sense.
Women are too stupid to make our own health decisions. Black people, except Candace Owens, are too stupid to know there is no such thing as systemic racism. And all of us are too stupid to decide what books to not read.
I have read thousands of books. None have harmed me. Some have bored me. Some have upset me. The ones that upset me to the point of insomnia are precisely the ones that need to be read.

No, what I said was, let the community decide. I wouldn't want DeSantis, nor any form of government making those decisions, either.

The community can already decide what to read. Banning can't help. It can only be harmful.

I've used newspapers to start fires when camping. Does that count?

I suppose. But, it could be a slippery slope. Where do you stop? Porn? Of course, that's ludicrous, but I think you get my drift.

Conservatives sure do love their slippery slope arguments.
