What are the odds Winslow and Nas both separate a shoulder tussling after the same rebound in practice right? LOL
So the ideal off season now would be to have Dame and Ant show that they complement each other the last three weeks of the season and playoffs. We trade our 2023 and 2025 picks for Grant (I think he would be a great third option with a great attitude on a team where everyone gets touches and plays their asses off on defense, he's been that before). We get a mid lotto pick from the Pelicans and trade it back to the Spurs for wherever the Toronto and Boston picks end up. One of those picks would be Orlando Robinson to back up Nurk and the other would be BPA. I would definitely pick up the option on Hart. I would re-sign Trendon to a real deal, we have his RFA rights. I would have to pick between CJ and Elijah, I think. I would use our MLE on the BPA. Ideally Nas would outplay Hart to win the starting SF spot. Dame Ant, Hart, Keon Nas, Justise, Elijah Grant, Trendon, GB3 Nurk, Robinson BPA other first round pick, BPA MLE
Wasn't Goberts fault his teammates couldn't get through a screen or compete enough defensively, but Chet has better lateral quickness and footspeed than Gobert.
While I don't expect an all star or anything I am excited to see if we can find another piece that fits the way we are play with the MLE. As with Hart and Winslow I am curious to see who is out there that can be another piece to this puzzle that is a Chauncey player that isn't being used the right way or getting playing time in another team. I would love a young athletic back up center
And Chris Paul rates really poorly. It's an odd stat, but we need to start somewhere. I think it matches the eye test more often than not. Look at the top 20:
I can see cam as attainable. Phoenix has big money already going to Paul, booker and bridges. And Ayton is going to get big $$ as well.
Great list, thanks. But..... if you want to get my mouth watering, cut out the over 32 crowd! Cam is intriguing, don't know anything about Martin, but "circling back" clearly means Grant is going to be investigated thoroughly. I thought he would make your list.
I like Johnson, quite a bit. Do you think that if the Blazers had say, the 10th pick, and they offered that + Keon + Hughes, Phoenix would bite? Is that too much to offer? of course, this time next year the Blazer could be looking at the situation the same as Phoenix now if they have Dame, Simons, and Nurkic locked up for a lot of money. And, they'd be looking at Hart, Winslow, and Johnson all being free agents
Yeah, damn, for some reason I was thinking he was restricted this season. I wonder if they'd be more likely to keep him on his cheap deal, and move him at the deadline next year
I can see it happening, but he might also boost his value quite a bit if he has a good playoff showing. He's ripe for their Crowder replacement but Sarver is cheap as F. But he has a year left before he reaches FA. Also see Martin as very available because of his upcoming FA status and Miami being completely tied up capwise.
Here is our current team (filtered for 500 minutes): We need to group as many positives as possible to mitigate the Dame/Ant pairing. Nas and Nurk are probably better than these numbers give them credit for given the shit defensive team around them. Winslow is really intriguing. I had him as a throwaway, but he might be a legitimate rotational player next year.
RAPTOR is probably the best tool out there but it’s not perfect (Watford for example grades out as our worst player...like obviously not) but none of them are. What I do is just combine all the tools available, mix it with the “eye test” and just come to a consensus. Usually works out fine.
