    I'll disagree until we see him play with these players with this vision. A lot can be said for watching from the outside, without the noise and distractions, and seeing the change from afar, then coming back focused on the new plan and vision.

    Can't trade him before we see him with all this. Until then, it makes no sense.

    To piggyback on this, there's no need to trade him until we see it, either. I'm pretty confident he's going to adjust and be even better in this system with these teammates, but there's no reason to rush to deal him by presuming it's not going to be a fit.

    No, it’s not. The fact that the Pistons were able to win 2 titles with their backcourt in the era and style of basketball that was played makes it more impressive.

    The current style of play actually makes it more realistic for smaller guards to succeed.

    I bet I can name multiple teams with a 6’3 PG and a 6’4 SG. I mean there wasn’t anyone over 6’5 in either finals team’s backcourt last season.

    I don't know.... I think it's harder now. The rules make it much harder to defend perimeter players and there are so many explosive guards, especially at the point.

    I think you're at a real disadvantage if you have two sub-par defenders who are undersized in your backcourt. This was proven time and time again with Dame and CJ..... but part of the problem with CJ was just piss poor effort on defense. He wasn't even trying.

    The guy was really good at finding undervalued players and diamonds in the rough. He was not a good free agency GM and his trades were very hit and miss. He had some good ones and he had some bad ones.

    He whiffed pretty hard on Meyers and Collins. Also on Swanigan. But he was really good at drafting guards.
