KOC was asking this on The Mismatch. Rob Mahoney said yes, it’s worth the risk.

It's not a yes or no question.
If he's healthy AND agrees to an extension, yes.

I seriously doubt that Zion will ever be able to stay healthy. So, the answer is no

No. Aside from health concerns I highly doubt that Zion would be pleased playing in Portland. He seems likely to head for a big market at the first opportunity.

I don't think KOC is a very flattering nickname...

I definitely would not. Ant has four years in this league, has been healthy and looks like he will stay healthy if he keeps doing what he's been doing. Zion has been injured a lot and if he keeps doing what he's been doing he'll be out of the league soon.

No, Zion only has next season on his rookie contract ($14 million) so its not really saving money.

I'd rather not have someone with such injury risk when we have one star in Dame and the star qualities we've seen from Ant. Zion is more similar to DeMarcus Cousins or yes Oden than a Giannis player that leads his team to contention.

I guess Embiid's career arc would be the hope, again I'd just rather let another team take that risk.

Now if we didn't have Dame or Ant and were a team such at the Spurs, Magic, or Knicks without a potential star I would want to take that risk.

Not a chance. I'm not even sure he'll play another game in the league

If Zion's healthy, the Pels aren't trading him, so the question is would you accept a Zion-for-Ant trade without any guarantees about Zion's health. That's the only way the Pels off that deal one-for-one or close to it.

Zion will be a bust, sucks when number 1 is a bust and number 2 is all-nba, I feel the Pels pain.

Not now. I love Zion's game, but as others have said it doesn't look like he's going to be able to stay healthy. It's too bad, because a healthy Zion is a monster.

with our history of injured big men..... HELL NO.

Oden played 82 games in his first three seasons.
If Zion sits out this year as has been rumored buy some, he will have played 85 his first three seasons.

The only guy who got out of this kinda scenario has been Embiid who played only 31 games his first three seasons, but he's also constantly injured.

    Let me think....

He was supposed to be back in November. It is now mid Feb and he is not only still out, they are mumbling he may need another surgery. Shades of Oden!

Apparently, no one with the organization has seen him for the last 6 weeks. He has left the team and is "rehabbing on his own". Photos of him indicate his rehab consists of eating ice cream with a shovel. Shades of Ben "mental" Simmons!

    Oh. Hell. No!
