He's a lot older now too though. I think he has matured.

Really sounds like Dame is 10 toes in. Fully bought in.

And the convos about FAs is really interesting. And Dame getting reflective about his previous reluctance to have his buddies moved is eye opening.

How much does Dame desperately want to bring Draymond here?

"I still feel like my absolute BEST is coming in the next three years. I really feel that in my heart and my body. I didn't know how hurt I was-- it's crazy."

He says this with so much conviction you have to believe him.

I think Dame seeing the team playing Billups ball has reinvigorated him.

Wow. Dame not being read in on advance of the Clips trade is news, or some fronting. No beef, but an interesting insight. Draymond talking about not giving a shit a few years back when GSW was decimated was interesting too.

I thought the funniest part of the interview is when Draymond tells the story of Harrison Barnes being butthurt that he recruited KD to the Warriors. As a result, Barnes invited most of his former Warriors teammates to his wedding except for Draymond. Draymond said that he wasn't the only one at the infamous Hamptons 5 meeting.

I just watched a clip of him talking about CJ and the team's future and my gut feeling after watching is this ....

He will give the team ONE more year and if Cronin or whoever the GM is cannot execute on the plan then he will ask out simple as that. I can kind of tell he is conflicted to a degree cause he wants to win in Portland but I also think he knows that might not be possible and it weighs on him what he MIGHT have to do knowing this market. He knows the fans are so passionate and him asking out would shatter the fan base but he has to know that while some will say some really stupid shit i do think most fans would understand WHY he wants out and wish him the best wherever he might be traded too ( outside of Lakerland )

This offseason is the most important in Blazer franchise history cause it will have a cascade effect on the future of this team and how it plays out for the next 2 to 5 years maybe ( prolly ) more but let's hope this front office knows what it's doing even if we fans are impatient and maybe THINK we know best. -- time to buckle up cause one way or another it's going to be something

A key point is that Dame knows that one of the fastest ways for this team to improve is to tank. He said that he doesn’t see himself playing this season. Seems like he has bought in and embraced the tank. Curious to see how he views the current 4 game win streak though.

Chauncey said Dame was at the PF well before anyone else showed up at like 7 am getting his work in yesterday.

That could just be Dame being Dame, but you know he's itching to play even given our miniscule chances to do anything of significance this year. Billups also said Dame might not be on road trips but he's beginning to be around the team more after his break of sorts.

I dunno, man. I think we're lucky to have a guy like Dame leading the franchise who is SOOO invested. It's why I don't hesitate when talk of his extension comes up.

Fantastic! Great interview by Draymond. As some one who believes in Dame and his abilities, it was awesome to hear him discuss just how hard it's been to play with that injury over the years, and show people how resilient he's been in dealing with it. His desire, and determination is off the chain. A healthy Dame will be a lethal Dame. One we may never see again in a rip city. So enjoy it, revel in it. Special is ahead.

I like that Dame now seems to realize he was stubbornly playing hurt for the last couple of seasons and that he can be even better once he gets his body right. Sitting the rest of this season will do that, and probably also extend his career.
