Trying out the TripIt app again. I used to use it. We'll see how it goes.

Has anyone here visited Belize? I found a couple good deals but not sure if I want to dive deep into researching yet.

No but it's on my list and I know many people who go there and love it. I saw Alaska just recently started flights there. I would say go for it.

We are working on a summer trip. I think we are going to drive to Glacier, then Mt Rushmore and back to Yellowstone then home. Going to be about a 10 day trip is our guess. We have never been to Glacier or Rushmore and Yellowstone just happens to be on our way home. My oldest will be off to college this fall, so we are trying to get one big trip in and she wants to see some national parks.

We are also going to do a short trip and hit wildlife safari, the Oregon Vortex and Crater lake.

Back from Vegas (a few days ago).

Concerts at Allegiant Stadium: Watched Metallica there. A bunch of aging rocker types. Good show, the stadium is pretty cool. Its actually pretty cool to be able to walk from the strip over to the Stadium.

Area 15: Went to the Omega Mart which is a big nerd maze/story. We didn't bother doing the story, just walked around. It was really cool. Surprised how many hipsters there are in Vegas.

Linq: Stayed at the link. Kind of a ghetto crowd, but the room was cheap.

Golden Steer: Had an awesome steak there. Bananas foster tableside too. They even sent over free meatball appetizer because they didn't have our table ready right away.

Ellis Island: $9 steak and Eggs!

Resorts World: Pretty clean, huge property but honestly its pretty boring.

Still planning that May Euro trip Prez? We are still looking at April but are changing some plans and getting a little nervous in general.

Yeah, everything is booked. Who knows what will happen from now until then, if its sketch, I'm sure we can cancel ok, but I'm not gonna put life on hold for something that isn't likely going to affect anything (as of now). Glad we're doing Ibiza instead of Prague now, though.

I guess travel insurance doesn't cover wars. If anything, we'll be inconvenienced with some anti-war protesting in Las Ramblas.

Holy shit, every cab driver in Vegas was like listening to Fox News talking points. There is so much trash in Vegas.

Some dude was talking about how masks sucked, then how he got COVID twice and then how he lost his smell. Then went on a rant about getting shot in Desert Storm and shit.

Interesting. When I went to Vegas in October I had a cab driver that was an anti-vaxxer. I'll be going again in two weeks.

My buddy, who we were planning to visit in Germany, works for the military. So he is obviously busy. We could still stay with him but probably better to catch him next time. Nothing booked yet still looking at options. Might just end up basing out of Florence Italy for a few weeks instead, touring the Tuscany region. Anyone spent any time there that they could make some recommends? Good hotels or Airbnb's? I'm traveling with my dad so a little space is always nice. I spent the week in Iceland with him snoring in my ear.

I stayed at a hotel right in front of the Santa Maria Novella church in Florence, it's walking distance from the train station there I believe (did not take trains on that trip). There are a few hotels in that plaza that are reasonably priced.

Buying more merino wool for travel clothes. Icebreaker shirts. Wanna pack light for May trip so I can buy stuff. Wash clothes in hotel by hand and it dries overnight.

    10 day trip.

    Want to travel with:

    2 merino t shirts
    1 button up
2 pairs lululemon pants (license to train joggers...very packable)
    1 pair shorts
    1 pair swim trunks
    2 merino underwear
    3 pairs merino socks
    1 pair flip flops
    1 pair tennis shoes

This will probably fill half my (carryon) suitcase. Oh yeah, probably gonna bring my Blazers Pau Gasol jersey to rock in Ibiza.

Check out travel packing cubes on Amazon. You can get a set for $20 and they organize and compact your clothes really well. I was meh on them but my wife got them anyway for us on our last trip and I loved them. Made things really easy.
